This Episode made everyone feel dead inside. Years later hundreds of watches/reads and this scene still hits. Even as far as the DUB(Which is goated) the scene and voice acting carries the emotion so dark and beautifully

One of the few things I like about the original anime, other than the full animation of the Miner Town Episode, is after Hughes's death when Ed, Al, and Winry are on the train, Ed spotted Hughes waving to him for a split second, as if his ghost is seeing the kids off one last time.

legitimately, the shou tucker episode as well as ed and als fight about al being real or not and this hurt the most for me since i watched 2003 first and they built up hughes EVEN MORE with he was basically 5there since like episode 2 till like episode like 20 or 30 and certain events that werent related to hughes in the manga were made a part of hughes story which truly made him so ridiculously built up that it hurt so damn much that for a guy like me who can really show emotions unless they are at a boiling point, EVEN I tear up uncontrollably and borderline cry which for me is basically tantamount to sobbing the ugliest tears you could imagine...
