If twitch ever gives your channel back or if you end up moving to streaming on like youtube I would love to watch you play through a badge point only run. I've recently picked up the game a few weeks ago and have been playing on hard mode and having a blast.

With regards to a possible bug fables sequel: the devs on their discord have said they're interested in it and have a rough idea of what the overall plot and direction of the game would be. But they want to work on something else for now and probably wont revisit bug fables until they finish it. They're generally trying to keep their options open for now.

You mentioned paper mario ttyd, fun fact: I did not realize that the mouse girl was an unlockable partner until 2021 which is 17 years after the game's release.

I will admit while i did have the house, it is easy to miss things bc there is so much. I didnt realize until the end of the game there was an exploration area i missed that got you a pet with their own side quests that can help in combat

You have a house in the main town where you can sleep for free-its also where if you complete some in game achievements you get a little trophy displayed Also in new chapters, the yellow save crystals heal you, but once you finish the story for that chapter iirc they are blue and dont anymore. The only exception is the red crystals in the final dungeon The interest mechanic is on purpose at the bank, you can even do a side quest to upgrade it once-it didnt feel like quite enough for me though tbh.

OOF REALLY? Yeah the economics of the game are definitely it's one downside imo.

Bug Fables is great! Outside of what you pointed out, the sole complaint I had is that, to me, it seemed like you didn't get any raw damage upgrades (in the form of badges, or weapon upgrades? I don't remember) until a good while after I started feeling the enemy health numbers inflate. It felt like I needed to tackle a fairly significant portion of the midgame with only early game tools, but I might not have been using items effectively. I also played on hard fwiw.

Normal mode in Bug Fables is actually still pretty hard- it's easy enough at the beginning, but around the middle of the game there's a difficulty spike- once enemy health gets big enough, you start needing to use your skills to deal enough damage to not get the crap kicked out of you by normal enemies, and you have the same economy and healing issues. To top it off, you're actually getting *less* XP and *fewer* Berries and item drops *and* you don't have those badges from Artis, so you have less TP available and even less access to healing. Not an easy game no matter how you slice it!
