2024-03-17 14:27:04 +0000 UTCi think youre a bit off. i dont think he blocked it with his hand, he just put his hand to his head cause he knew something was wrong. it went wrong last time and it blew up in front of his face without him blocking it. whether its a mix of he got hit so hard it caused a bigger block than last time, or he charged a bigger one than last time, or one or the other.

The hit to the forehead messed him up (it was foreshadowed in an earlier episode that hits to the "third eye" mess with his ability to control the explosions). If you look closely at the moment he blew up, he actually blocked his third eye with his hand when he was checking his forehead right as he was about to fire. He basically caught the projectile in his hand and set off the explosion right on his forehead
