"Say No" - Songwriting Process
Added 2022-06-08 06:08:31 +0000 UTCBehind-the-scenes explanation of how I wrote the song "Say No"! This was an interesting process because I the only things I knew about it where:
A) I wanted to write a song about either being captured or being set freee
B) Sapphire wanted to do a song like the Cutie Honey opening
So I kind of just deconstructed the Cutie Honey opening and hit it with a hammer fifty times. You can hear some of the melodies and lyrics we didn't end up using though!

I appreciate how you cut between the gradually-evolving acapella and the final song to make comparisons easier. ...also I wonder how often you almost broke into laughter because if I were to go that hard scatting into a microphone while alone in my room, I'd probably send myself into laughing fits at how ridiculous I felt.
