More than a year ago, a Youtube channel called “Good Blood” released a video where they described their idea to reboot Sonic the Hedgehog. Given that I have dabbled in game development stretching all the way back to the dawn of Sonic fangames in 1998, I’ve had ideas for how I’d handle Sonic the Hedgehog for myself, assuming it was put in to my hands. What initially started out as a response to “Good Blood” grew in size until it became the 30 minute video you see before you. It covers a wide array of in-depth topics — from what Sonic the Hedgehog looks like, to what he plays like, to the stigmas that surround his games.
In the wake of Sonic Mania’s reveal, let’s all turn our attention to the 3D games and ask ourselves the question: How DO we fix Sonic?
(I keep forgetting that I can, and should, be posting my videos here now, too!)
