A technical breakdown

So, I wanted to make the title and summary to be mysterious enough that the free members wouldn't get spoiled by the story. If you can read this and you don't want spoils, stop reading now!

I completed my writing super early today, because I couldnt' sleep, so I thought I'd give you a little extra today.

Now that I've padded it enough let me give you a breakdown of my plans for Teddy's new flagship Bear Force One. (Note: I found this picture, but couldn't find the original so I could give proper credit to the author. I think it may be from the defunct game 'Dreadnought' if I do find the original I'll update the credits! I love the design!

If you didn't get it from Nyx's dimensions, Bear Force One is the size of an aircraft carrier.

It has five different functions: Bear production (moved from the shelter), Bear carrier, setting up and tearing down fortifications, area denial, and single target elimination.

About a quarter of the ship is dedicated to hangers and storage. There are about twenty barricade walls at the front of this area, and two hover heavy lifters capible of carrying a couple of these each. Using this method Teddy can setup a full bastion in half an hour, this will probably get faster with time and experience (along with tech)

The rest of the hanger deck dominated by Kodiaks and Grizzlies, so Teddy can rapidly deploy her forces into combat, but also has her collection and repair rigs.

The cargo area contains the raw material storage, which is is dropped off by the collection rigs, along with damaged bears, which can be pushed to the next section, manufacturing.

Although listed seperately, the manufacturing area is connected to the landing bay. It contains space for all Teddy's Matter reconfigurators, along with extra space if she wanted to get more. These function 24/7 just like at the shelter.

Bear Force One contains and upgraded powerplant, using the Catalogs Teddy purchased to power the undercity. These fusion plants are relatively safe, and far more compact than the basic models, which is what made room for the manufacturing area.

Bellow the hanger deck is a series clamps which allow the marsupial to dock, and carried by the larger ship. It is not an ideal setup, and getting in and out can only be done through a single hatch in the top of the marsupial, but it can be done.

The midship contains a series of living quarters for Teddy, her family and other samurai. Although it can't support an army, there are enough quarters for twelve people to live comfortably. These quarters have easy access to both the hanger and bridge, but they can access the rest of the ship through service passages.

The bridge is designed to be modular, and contains Teddy's best comm and control systems, along with fire control systems. Although the ship can be manned by Teddy alone, it runs best with ten to five to ten bears to monitor all the systems. Ten to Twelve during combat situations. Although the bridge has a crystaline matrix window that looks out over the top of the ship, most combat would happen below the ship so there are more than sixty cameras placed around the outside of the ship to keep track of everything. These are all routed to a single bridge station, and specific cameras can be displayed on the large display at the front of the bridge, over the bridge.

The ships engines are supersized versions of the engines that Kodiaks have, designed for high stress, and extended use. Even though it can stay airborne with the loss of 1-2 engines, it will struggle. These are not the ideal for a ship of this size. That being said, they work and are easy to replace once Evelynn decides to upgrade.

The last major system on Bear Force One is the shield system. This consists of a two different, overlaping Class I systems. One deflects on coming glancing attacks, while the other acts as a non-newtonian field, hardening in response to projectiles. These CANNOT prevent damage to the ship, but lessen the damage that hits the hull.

The hull is constructed of Ten inches of Class II Omni armor, the same alloy which Heavy is constructed with. This makes the ship extremely heavy, and slow, but also nearly impenetrable to anything that Teddy has encounter before.

The rest of the ship is modular, and currently used for bear storage, but there are a couple of spaces earmarked for: Hydroponics, Life support, Redundant power, Additional engines, Fire control, Damage control, Grav generators, and Long range communications.

Bear Force One is only capible of atmospheric flight at this time, but can be incrementally improved to allow space flight in the future.

Teddy has invested a fair amount of points on weapons for the ship, focusing almost entirely on kinetic weapons. The main turret sports the UHR, which was retrofitted with extra capacitors, cooling and spatial anchors to keep the weapon from damaging the ship with it's kickback. It now fires at about double the rate, and Teddy has been using it as an impromptu 'Hand of God' to fire rounds deep into the ground where special munitions can detonate within hives. Weakening the Antithesis before a full assault. It should be mentioned that the turret the UHR is mounted in is designed for twin linked cannons. Teddy just doesn't have the points for a second one. This cannon is mounted Ventrally, and has a twin on the dorsal side, but this one does not have any mounted weapons.

The ship also has four 'Shredstorm' quad coil cannon turrets. Two along the top, two along the bottom. These weapons are around twice as large as the vehicle mounted coil cannons, and are capible of a frightning rate of fire. They can be loaded with several different shells, but are typically armed with high fragmentation rounds to clear areas.

Finally the ship has twenty four smaller, twin linked cannon turrets spread equally along the rest of the hull, for defensive purposes. These are approximately the same size as the kodiak mounted weapons.

To complement this frightning array of weapons the ship has dozens of Active Protection Systems to shoot down projectiles and smaller fliers. These are low damage arrays, but can easily fry entire swarms of smaller fliers.

Comments

It is spoilers in the fact that it reveals that Teddy buys it, but your right it doesn't really ruin the story since it's something she buys at the last minute. I wrote it because I finished writing much earlier than usual and thought people would like it. I'm glad people enjoyed, it wasn't meant to be super serious but to give an idea of the size and capabilities, along with solidify the ship in my mind. Just a fun side project for everyone to read through.

Thank you!

I do not consider this information "spoilers". It is information that helps the reader but does not severely detract from the story because of having to be entered at the point you are telling something else. For those that want to visualize mentioned technical abilities of the ship, they sit off to the side. At least for me, I am very happy you have done this, in this manner. I probably would not look at this and study it like some do exploded information about each of the Enterprises from each of the Star Trek shows or the very very detailed maps of Middle Earth. I to be honest will probably reference it only if I have a question, so sitting all on its lonesome is desirable to me.
