Faces of Fantastical Multiverse

This is to keep everyone who has supported me on here aware of the current state of the mod.  

I needed to ensure all these were working especially since they added back the tags they removed in like Early Access Patch 3. Tags are how races get coded responses or options to respond to NPCs in a specific way. I wanted to make sure they were the most up-to-date if that Tag was being used by a race, like Aasimar which was returned back into the Full Release of the game.


So this is the biggest reason for the delay. With there being 50+ races I have to make new heads for the strong bodies of old races, and my strong body races from Early Access needed new heads to be made from scratch as Ogresh, Orc, and Goliath are the top of my head ones I remember being in Early Access that used a strong body. Each new strong body face has a goal of 7 faces per male or female version.  So this is why it's been delayed and the most recent ETA's have been sadly incorrect. I basically go through heads, look for textures I can use to make each race have its own unique look or eyes, and then modify the heads I want to include for each race that way. This is so you're not just getting a bunch of races with vanilla faces. I really want these races to feel like expansions to the game not just renamed with new traits from PHB races. 


Thanks again for everyone's patience, and overwhelming support for this mod.  I understand that this is taking a while. I underestimated how much I would need to fix this.  Especially knowing this was a project I've been working on throughout Early Access since patch 3 releasing smaller portions until it reached this state. I didn't honestly expect to have to do this much work even though Larian did warn us that things could drastically change and modding was not supported.  I won't provide an ETA because all the ETA's have been incorrect guesses. All I know is it's very close to being done and updated for Full Release. :) Looking forward to having this done, so I can finally play the full-release version of the game. lol

thank you for your continued work on such an extensive and beautiful mod! i can't wait to play with it. i was wondering if in addition to the new faces will you keep a few of the default ones? i'm eager to play as a reborn/hemato-kai but there's an elf female face i use and wish to keep. thank you again!

Kobolds will have their old version as an Option when I refer to Legacy versions with races I'm referring to the old versions before they where replaced by there Fantastical Races version. :) I like the old Kobolds and know they are a favorite among Kobold players so I added them as well.

it seems kobolds are the winners. my fiance is waiting for them like 10 people ive seen on nexus aswell and im waiting for my kobold ranger. kobolds are best race. ill fight everyone over it. lol

Just joined to throw in what little support I can. This is certainly something worth putting money behind and I appreciate the work you're putting into this. With some of my own forays into modeling work and textures...well I just understand the level of overwhelming tedium and annoyance that can come with a project like this. Can't wait to run around as a Dark Urge Kobold, well, I can and I will :P

i had a question. there are some really old races in D&D that haven't shown up since..i believe 3.0 like the wolf race. the one that was mistaken for werewolves and attacked. who...took it upon themselves after that to. hunt.. professionally...every single werewolf....since 2 cats are planned with tabaxi and leonin. i was wondering if you might be planning to add the wolves aswell?

Question, from a technical standpoint would it be conceivable to rig the game to change what armor is displayed on a character based on the *class* of armor worn? IE, instead of rigging every armor in the game for goblins, have all heavy armors display the goblin plate mail, have all mediums be the scale armor, lights be the hooded scout, cloth be the casters, and camp clothes be the civvies? Might be useful as a stopgap-if possible, or a fun option if you want consistent aesthetic choice? Dunno how the game's backend handles armor display though, so dunno if that's possible!

Interesting! I never had a chance to check out the early access of the mod, ended up joining up on this crazy train during full release, so I'm not entirely sure how they functioned/what to reference beyond the screenshot on your Nexus page. But that's a really cool idea!

Bugbears don't have a lot of options and are going to be defiantly something I'm going to have to invest time in creating new models for especially for the female Bugbear. Goblins are tweaked because they have almost as many faces as player races and they have tons of outfits to mix and match from unlike any other creatures in the game so it's easier to modify them. In this update coming they'll be the same as they were in my mod's Early Access, but as soon as I'm done updating all of my mods, I'm making them a compatible update for Fantastical Multiverse with most of the common gears to start with having gear options so when you put on plate or leather they'll have a specific version associated with it. Might make "pajama's" as an alternative option until I can get to all the armor in the game to have a Goblin version. I was waiting to do this because I knew we would get more races and body types and didn't want to have to fix that as well when Full Release happened.

I just had a small question about the goblins in this mod. I noticed that the bugbear's in this mod look like a one-to-one import, if not just extremely close to the base material, but the goblins in your previous screenshots look far more custom. Will they have similar posture to the goblins in game or will the goblin race have posture similar to that of the halflings or gnomes? Can players choose if they want to just take the appearance of goblin NPC over the custom appearance and vice-versa? Either is interesting. I've just always loved the goofy run/stance the ones in game already use. I took note of you using the minotaur NPC model for, well, the minotaur, haha. So I was just wondering/hoping the goblins got a similar experience, there's already a ton of different faces/armor combos for the goblins already in game, like what the creator ShinyHobo did with their playable goblin mod a few years back during early access. But that's just personal taste at the end of the day. Either way is awesome. This was just something that I was wondering as a new viewer of the mod. Also, I just wanted to give you props upon props on this fantastic mod. Probably the most impressive fan project I've seen in a very long time. It's amazing to see, even from just the screenshots alone.

I really appreciate the transparency, and really look forward to the mod's release. I know it might seem dumb considering the vast amount of races coming out with this, but I really just want to play as a goblin and not just a green skinned gnome.

Well...You are like the second person I have ever done this Patreon thing with! You are doing DnD gods work! If I may ask, are you going to lift CC restrictions with facial hair? Mainly interested in Elves/Drow races...I really felt it unfair that natively you can click a box to customize your Elf/Drow with other features that weren't "Lore" correct (eye colors, skin tones, etc.), yet not have the option to do so with facial hair. It's like..."Play how you like...except not like that"...or..."Fantasy Role Play, just be like in real life"...what?! Also...This mod seems to be just as anticipated as the full release of the game was! lol Larion should pay you and just officially add your work to the game!

The last I heard Pixies aren't making it into the initial release. I think he's holding off on stuff that requires programs like Blender and putting them updates due to wanting to get this out in August. For example Kobolds are just going to be base model + eye colors for now. Later down the line he's planning on putting Dragonborn heads on them and a bunch of customization options. But unless we want this released in October, there needs to be some comprimises.

Really appreciate the update, and I'm sure I'm in the majority when I say that I look forward to this mod being updated! Take as long as you need, you really are incredible for even attempting this big of a mod! Do you know if Pixies are going to make it into this release, or are they in the works for a later update? I've been excited to play as one since I saw they were on your list of upcoming races.

:) Glad it helped you get the game it's honestly a really beautiful game and I love Larian Studios to death for making it. Just wish they had added more content from outside the PHB but I understand why they couldn't! :) Yeah I use the mod for myself it's a must-have and I made the other races for the community and my friend group that plays, that and I love Grim Hollow so had to bring them here because GhostFireGaming did an amazing job with their homebrew books. Looking forward to everyone's reactions once it's finally up and compatible for the Full Release!

No, I use to do this in Early Access but then get chewed out by people because something was missing or unfinished. So now I go through the extra steps to ensure everything is as done as it possibly could be for that moment.

Plus, this gives me some time to try to find someone to make Pathfinder goblin and kobold models so I can try to figure out how to get those in for making tokens for my next campaign.

Great work! Those are looking really unique, like all the races are getting some love equally, excited to play it. Is there a way to give a more general ETA? Like by the end of the month, or mid-September or something of the sort?

I don't comment much on things, but I wanted to say that your mod was the thing that convinced me to go through with buying the game. My first (and longest) DnD character ever was a Fire Genasi, a Monk following the Way of the Four Elements (with some homebrew elements from my DM at the time). The moment I heard Way of the Four Elements was in the game, I immediately started searching if Fire Genasi was available in the game, and found this mod. Thank you for making your mod, and spending your free time to fix everything here. I know you *also* use the mod so you're helping yourself, but you should know your work is appreciated!

As much as I would like to take it apart this would only delay the overall project which is why I haven't. Because races play a big impact I'm not also trying to force people to restart every update. If Larian is considering making a respec option for races and looks like they might be based on some post on Twitter I saw, then I can do that after we get that update. For example, because there are respec options for Classes though I will be adding Subclass mods I have planned and class mods I have planned 1 by 1. Because you can just respec for 100 gold. So other mod updates shouldn't take this long. Races that are done are Kobold, Goblin, Vedalken, Aasimar, Downcast, Goliath, Bugbear, and Dragonborn (Mostly just did color changes for Gem Dragonborn instead of making new heads.) to name a few lol. In the next update I will list how many are completed if not done by then.
