Desert Shrine, Expert
Added 2021-04-30 14:55:39 +0000 UTCI'm back this week with another desert map, the Desert Shrine (24x24). I was pretty short on time so it ended up a little smaller than I expected, but even so I tried to make sure it had some interesting terrain. But anyway, let's talk about your extra versions!
If you recall your version of the Cliffside Village, you'll know about the strange 'Astral' version I made of that map which featured some unusual colors. I tried to do something similar again, going back to the image which inspired that first palette, the scene in Watchmen with Dr. Manhattan sitting alone on Mars. So, for the Martian version of this map, I did it again, this time sticking hard to that palette and really leaning into those colors. I think it came out looking really cool!
And, of course, I made an Underwater version of the map as well, since there are so few out there in this environment. I hope a few of you appreciate this sort of thing- a while back I got several messages asking for more maps like this.
