Map Poll 11

Welcome back everyone, for another poll! I had so many excellent suggestions for this one, I'm excited to see what you all choose. Last time there were quite a few requests for more pirate-themed maps, which I'm 100% into, so you'll notice a slight emphasis on that theme below. Also, a few of you mentioned a desire for a 'Frog Temple', which isn't that odd but it's strange that it came up twice. I've included the Swamp Temple option as my nod toward that prompt, and I solemnly promise that I'll make it at least a little foggy if it ends up winning.

As with my previous polls, you can place a vote for every map you want me to make, so be sure to pick everything that sounds interesting. Then, once the poll is finished, I'll take the 7 maps that performed the best and I'll make them in that order. Nice and simple.

Also, once you've placed your vote, leave a comment with your own suggestions- I usually take 75% of each poll's choices from the comments of the previous poll. It's the best way to get me to make your dream map, so please tell me about it!

Update: It looks like I accidentally added both 'Red Dragon Lair' and 'Dragon Lair' to the poll. Let's assume that the regular 'Dragon Lair' will be one for a different kind of dragon. My bad!

I'd love a map of a jungle canopy. I've been doing a lot of battles above the surface, so it would be great to have some maps where you can't see the ground

I don't think this is included somewhere, but I'd love a Library of Alexandria/Avatar the Last Airbender buried-esque map.

Kaite

Check out the "Tree Village Revisited" map, I have a feeling that might be exactly what you're looking for!

Chris Messenger

How about an elven treetop village?

Ron Cote

Never mind, the Caravan Camp was exactly what I needed! ^^

Maybe I'm missing it but just a simple grassland battle-map. I don't know if you've done a variety of this, sorry if you have!

Would love to see more Desert themed maps - my vote for Cliffside Village could be that too

Tame suggestion: a castle courtyard. Big stone walls around open space, maybe with a training yard or stables. Maybe it's intact, maybe it's a giant ruin. Wild suggestion: the back of an enormous creature, Shadow of the Colossus style!

I generally have a hard time finding good swamp maps, ends up high on the list of votes every time. I would really like to see that gap filled with multiple additions

I would like some dark alleyways. The type of place where a shady character might lead you into an ambush

I like the idea of a town hall meeting gone wrong, does it spill into the streets? Is this the reveal of the villain? Hopefully the map has ample routes for the villain’s escape. Would love a perimeter of the building included with an alley and street side. Gives the players more options.

I would really like to see more jungle/tropical maps. I am currently running Tomb of Annihilation and lack a good plain jungle map. You already made some pretty sweet temples and ruins but nothing that would compare to your classical forest maps. A vanilla jungle would super useful.

I'd really like to see a modular set of city maps that feature a lock system with tall walls, and bridges adorned with steampunk-esq gears. A possible variant for each map could be a mesopotamian garden temple.

Andrew Beisel

I would like some more urban maps...I really want to run a foot chase through crowded city streets or a fight in a dimly lit cul-de-sac.

Alembik_1212

Love to see your interpretation of a shadowfell map!

Jimmy Ellerth

I've homebrewed a map where rather than the focus being building interiors, the combat encounter is with gargoyles so it's across a series of interweaving rooftops laced with arches, birdges, walkways and sloping roofs with a bell tower as the main point of interest. Really struggled to find something professionally made that fit the bill so it'd be sweet to see something along those lines!

These look like great suggestions! Would love to see an option for some magical city streets next time. Like something you'd find in the feywilds or in a high fantasy homebrew game. :D

What I run into all the time are Town Square's, the inside of the Town Hall or the office of the City Guard (players get missions from these guys). Also fun, Town Squire having a festival (with booths, players love to buy stuff at these things).

Frank Dellario

Also running a winter campaign so let me know if you find any good sources of snowy maps please!

Gob

My players are just a couple of sessions away from fighting a dragon haha Dragon Lair would be dope! hahaha

I would like to see maps with glacial themes. This dragon's lair could be that of a white dragon in the ice mountains. Some observation posts in snowy areas, a frozen waterfall in the mountains with a view above and below it. It would help a lot for those who narrate Rime of the Frostmaiden, be it the official adventure or the adventures of season 10 of the Adveturers League. Other interesting maps that are sorely lacking are large libraries (which can be used for the adventures of Candlekeep Mysteries) to be released in the coming weeks. Another suggestion would be maps with a desert theme, cities, warehouses, indoor areas and the like. They help a lot and are hard to find.

Daniel Saraiva

Cranking up to run Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, so I'd love more interesting Arctic/winter maps.

Mark Wilkins

I'm running Rise of Tiamat and I've been looking for a map to use for the Council of Waterdeep chapters. Some kind of indoor council chamber in a castle where lots of important people gather and make important decisions would be great. Possibly something that looks like the Wizard Council chamber in Harry Potter.

Brian Donovan

I would LOVE a map series for an easy chase seaside chase. I’m running a game where my players spend a lot of time sailing in an out of coves or around islands and I find myself trying to create a ‘scrolling’ battle map... anything with that flavoring would be very fun!!

This times a thousand. These kinds of maps are hard to come by!

Having more battlefield aftermath maps would also be amazing!

I'm always in need of a good Inn with a common room. Tavern style. Pretty much have an Inn in every campaign.

John Clark

maybe a battle-damaged celestial garden courtyard, however you interpret "celestial"

Zee Coshow

Running a desert campaign at the moment. Sandy maps I have plenty, but I'm having a hard time finding urban interior maps suitable for the theme. Stuff like a public bath, a bazaar, a coffee house with lots of small tables and pillows - a pillow house would be cool as well, for that matter - a water garden in sultan's palace, a throne room in a more Middle Eastern style, and so on.

Vartiainen

It would be really nice to have windy floating islands over the sea, just like in Chrono Trigger! With some mystical ruins!

Running a Vikings game so would love the Viking port

I'd like to see an old multi-floored castle. Presumably, it's currently occupied after already being abandoned several times over.

I've been running a Wild West campaign and your maps have been great—I can more often than not repurpose anything fantasy-themed to suit my needs! My request would be battle maps that could host shootouts in varying levels of terrain or obstacles: a mountainside combat with fallen trees near a winding path, a creek in a plains with tall grass and sparse foliage, a group of houses on a homestead housing a group of rival ranchers, a trail used by settlers/travelers that can easily be targeted by bandits for an ambush via a narrow canyon or fallen trees. (I'm trying to think of locations that could be multi-purpose for others running different settings.) Thank you for all of your excellent work—they've been a boon to my encounters' needs!

Patrick Onofre

Oh man, all of these sound so cool! Some suggestions: Fancy house interior, like a manor or lord/lady's house Prison yard More elemental maps (fire plane, abyss, the nine hells, etc.) Thank you for your amazing work!

Anduriel Pontiff

I'm running through Rime of the Frostmaiden so anything with "snow" in the name is an automatic vote from me!

YithianHistorian

I am always looking for more Feywild based maps since I have a home brew campaign that deals with that a lot, preferably forest type maps with colorful fauna which is hard to find

A lot of these could be useful in a Saltmarsh campaign!

St Andral Church w/ catacombs

As I starded Legends of 5 rings i would love to see some oriental themed maps

Frog temple comes from the old Blackmoor module most probably. Perhaps you could try to make a bigger dungeon theme as well. Many maps that connects between each others or can be swapped around. A castle exterior, some fortifications. A plagued city and its surroundings.

Honestly most anything besides a dragon lair, there's already a million of those out there

Town Hall would be awesome!!!!
