Hope you all had a chance to take the CSS Star Nomad out for a spin in last week's Mythic Starters IV.
This week I've had quite a few people ask me about how I go about some of my solo actual plays like Tales of the Burrow or Morton Fledgling and the Case of the Murdered Mermaid.
I thought it would be fun to go into some of the different game loops I like to set up for myself and share some of the insights that really helped me create an enjoyable solo experience for myself.
I hope it will inspire new ideas on how to create your own preferred custom solo gaming experience!
Solitary Musings includes:
- Procedure of Play discusses a basic loop of actual play that keeps the ball rolling by creating new game states for your characters to deal with.
- Tiny Stories covers a loose framework for treating sequences of oracle questions as tiny stories within your game.
- Other Loops sees two different ways to set up variant structures to guide your gaming experience: Goals & obstacles, and Two Portals.
I included some pictures from the playtest and lots of examples of play, enjoy!
