Heya, everyone,
Hope you all had fun last week trying out some micro-adventures with the Fichtean Micro GM Emulator I made for the business card jam!
This week I wanted to create some fun encounter-based stuff you can slip into your favorite set of random encounter tables to spice things ups and create interesting story hooks along the way.
Random encounter tables have this nice GM-less world-building aspect to them in the sense that they show you that your characters are part of this larger world. I wanted to lean into this element of world-building when I made Party Encounters.
The adventuring parties described here should slot in easily into your favorite set of random encounter tables by creating a new 'rival adventuring party' entry or by substituting other entries.
The backgrounds and hooks provided should lead to some fun adventures. I sure had fun being hired as a bouncer during one of the Wandering Cocaktrice's wild dungeon tavern nights!
Any stats used are compatible with Heartseeker by Scott Malthouse but are easily transposed to whatever ruleset you prefer.
Have fun!
Cheerio,
John
