Heya, everyone,
Hope you enjoyed creating little dungeon ecosystems for your solo adventures with Sewers of Siltmire last week.
This week's upload is based on Martijn Jansen's creative suggestion 'unpredictable traps'! Trap handling is always a tricky subject in solo gaming, as it can be hard to emulate the kind of frantic cooperative puzzle-solving and improvising experience a good DM can provide.
This resource is an experiment in a narrative-based alternative approach to trap handling that injects problem-solving, improvisation, luck, and ingenuity into the frantic moments after hearing that dreaded 'click' sound!
I also included a small list of example traps to get you started, although creating your own is quite easy with this approach. It might even be fun to combine this with the trap occurring mechanic in Dungeon Crawling - published modules!
Cheerio!
