Spires of Hydraxis - The storm surged city

At the dawn of time, the spires of the Hydraxian city-state loomed over the ancient world as a prideful bastion of civilization. A cruel people, they had grown unconcerned with right and wrong in their obsession with power.
They enslaved or eradicated any who dared oppose them and conducted monstrous experiments on those too weak to resist their military and magical might.
The sudden downfall of Hydraxis remains shrouded in time. Some say they angered a powerful sea goddess, others claim that their arcane experiments brought about a magical cataclysm.
The former location of the city-state now forms a mass grave in the center of a churning sea vortex. An endless storm surge waxes and wanes, uncovering their crumbling spires. Enticing those brave enough to explore their dark secrets...

Heya, everyone,

Hope you all had fun with The Lyrical Gnome and the secret of dumplings last week! This week's upload was inspired by Jesper Ohlsson and his suggestion 'The Cairn of Storm Surge'.

I had to look up what exactly a storm surge is, but when I combined it with what a cairn basically is, I thought, why not combine it with a whole ancient dead city and have some Atlantis style adventures!

Spires of Hydraxis is a prepless location generator you can use to generate ruined spires and their crumbling rooms, all set within the lost city of Hydraxis. I included two example spires and rooms: Seat of Power, and Bottle Garden to help you get started.

I also thought it would be fun to include some factions making their home in this constantly submerging and emerging lost city:

Have fun generating your own spires to explore in Hydraxis. You should have plenty of material to drive your imagination. It might be a nice idea to combine this resource with the Silent Empress and/or Cutlass Cove

Cheerio,

John

Thanks, glad you liked it!

I just red this one. It is really inspiring! This kind of generator works well when trying to come up with a solo adventure./session. The content has a feel of Pulp, which I do like very much.

Jesper Ohlsson

Fixed the correct file! Sorry about that :)
