Heya, everyone,
I hope you all had fun getting to the bottom of the stone cube in It Came from the Outer Planes!
I've been running a few solo games in the format of a 'tavern procedural', which I guess is like a police/detective procedural tv show, only in the form of hopping from tavern to tavern solving and causing problems.
I thought it was a fun experiment in fleshing out a city from the inside out. It was also an excuse to whip out my Slightly Realistic Medieval Banquet Generator!
Anyway, to come up with interesting noteworthy patrons for these games I put together a random table toolkit in the vein of an earlier system I made called Roadside Encounters. This lets you basically identify overarching themes in your story/setting/plot and use these to pre-categorize your random table outcomes.
Hope you enjoy generating interesting patrons and connecting their secret plans to the other patrons! I included two example collections for the Old Skull tavern and the Wizard's Familiar to get you started.
Enjoy!
Cheerio,
John
