The legend of Saint Andronica is often told in the local village church. The old cleric’s yellowed eyes mist over when he speaks of her many benevolent acts and pious deeds.
It is a great honor for the community to have her tomb located so close to the village. Important looking church officials even visited the village every year to inspect Andronica’s last resting place, although sadly, they haven’t been seen in over a decade.
However, strange events near Andronica’s tomb has given the village cause to worry. Part of the rocky hillside in which the tomb is located has collapsed, and unusually aggressive swarms of bats and other vermin seemed to have made their home there.
Some villagers have even claimed to have seen undead shambling near the entrance of the tomb. It has become clear that someone will need to go inside and inspect the tomb of Saint Andronica, to make sure it is rid of vile or evil creatures...
Heya, everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed putting on your fedora and investigating what happened during the Treadwell Folly!
This week's upload is a one-page dungeon crawl concept I'm testing out together with my son. It takes a relatively small dungeon, with interlinked descriptions and context, and uses map icons as inspiration for threats, challenges, events, and encounters.
The background and room descriptions were inspired by Martijn Jansen's suggestion 'divine fate', to which I put a twist that could turn out bad, or good depending on your own interpretations of prompts and context.
The idea is that it serves as a dungeon crawl set up for you to explore further by using your favorite oracle/GM emulator.
Have fun finding out if your version of Saint Andronica is as friendly as ours!
Cheerio,
John
