When lord Ephram Treadwell returned from his disastrous archeological expedition to the Colonies he quickly became an outcast of Victorian high-society.
While newspapers and journals were eager to interview the sole survivors, Ephram and his manservant Reginald, the two refused to report any details regarding the death of their other companions.
In order to fund his expedition, Lord Ephram had enamored young heirs of wealthy families with exciting tales of the ancient city of Okunda, and its lost civilization of antediluvian giants.
Those families grew desperate to find out what happened to their lost sons and daughters. They even hired private investigators and undertook legal action, but nothing came of it.
Lord Ephram refused to speak to anyone and retreated from public life before his untimely death. He claimed that cultivating the exotic gardens around the Treadwell family crypt demanded all his attention.
Now, new questions regarding the fate of the Treadwell expedition have surfaced, and you find yourself about to investigate the Treadwell family crypt, and the overgrown wilderness surrounding the eerie structure.
Heya, everyone,
I hope you had a good time exploring the adventure possibilities in Tales of Sakura! This upload is inspired by Jesper Ohlsson's suggestion 'Ancient Lore' and the fact that he mentioned Call of Cthulhu was among his favorite systems.
The Treadwell Folly is a randomization hack of the awesome Location Crafter; while it uses a kind of Cthulhu by Gaslight (my favorite version) setting, you could easily convert it to any setting or ruleset you might prefer, even fantasy, without any problems.
Have fun deciding why Lord Ephram and his manservant were the only two survivors of the Treadwell expedition!
Cheerio,
John
