Life in the EnviroCorp shelter wasn’t too bad the first few years after the Collapse. Back when everyone still got along and the air scrubbers functioned at peak efficiency.
The world of the Before had been ravaged by endless wars fought over diminishing natural resources. Until some idiot pressed a button and activated the Doomsday weapon that brought about the Collapse.
The exact nature of the weapon remains unclear, but the cataclysm covered the entire world in cold, darkness, and death. Eventually, society collapsed under the weight of a sudden and brutal ice age...
Heya, everyone!
I hope everyone had fun trying out the Deck of Fantastic Fairs last week!
Last week I've been playing Mutant Future (check out the free version), using an old adventure outline I made some years ago and had a blast doing so. I thought it would be a nice change of pace to flesh it out some more and use it as an adventure seed.
While the story assumes a fantasy post-apocalyptic world-of-tomorrow setting, the exact nature of the Collapse and the world of the Before in your game is of course entirely up to you. You could even transplant it to a fantasy setting without too much effort!
For example, Fort Truckstop could be a small town ringed with broken wagons and carts, instead of a fort made out of rusty old trucks, and the Reformed Park Rangers could be any fantasy ranger organization tasked with protecting travelers, and the National Park could be the King's Forest!
Cheerio,
John
