When eager merchants and exotic traders from all over the known lands gather to sell their newest wares, both townspeople and city dwellers alike look forward to the boisterous excitement of the coming fair.
For these lucky potential customers, the day revolves around the steady rise and fall of the merchants’ voices announcing the many wondrous benefits or delights their particular product offers:
"Visit Dungeon Dan’s Knickknacks to get the best prices for your latest haul!”
"Bright Malone’s sells the only torches that will never fail you underground!”
"Dare to eat the cheapest fried meat at the Fleshmonger!”
Adventurers also flock to the fair, looking to both buy and sell the latest and greatest products to aid them on new quests and challenges.
At the fair, there is something to be found for everyone!
Heya everyone,
I hope you had fun confronting last week's child-stealing ogres in General Manbane's Warband!
This week's upload was inspired by Martijn Jansen's suggestion 'large (outdoor) market' and an idea I had floating around for a while now.
I had an idea of creating a deck of cards that I could use to randomly generate interesting people and stores for my character to interact with when visiting fairs and markets in-game.
Basically, I just wanted to draw a few cards and have a nice context direction my solo game could go in to make shopping for supplies interesting between adventures!
Setting up the template and especially the workflow for this one took me way longer than expected! So, I will release the deck in two or three parts depending on the number of cards.
PS. Feel free to provide some suggestions for merchants and store names/ideas in the comments for part 2!
Cheerio!
