Relicdale Riverbeds oracle map

Heya everyone!

I was revisiting two of the earlier oracle maps I made (The Boundary and The Starfall Reach) and toying around with making a small new region map for a game I was planning with my son.

I thought using a really different art style this time was a fun way to revisit the oracle map concept, this time combining premade oracle results with map icons for interpretation. The Relicdale Riverbeds is the result! :)

The basic concept is really simple: you take a little time to read the map, and then you start making connections based on your interpretation of names, symbols, icons, etc.

For example, we decided that the river was washing ancient relics out of the cyclopean palace up in the mountains. This was causing all sorts of unnatural havoc, turning the local fish into monsters and sinking an important ship coming up the river.

We ended up having to persuade the ghosts not-living in the Deathknell mill to give us the key to the Grinding Orrery. There we found a spell allowing entry into the palace. I hope we will make it through the mountains in the next little session we have! :)
