Port master Mansur Kelpbeard had to keep a handkerchief in front of his face while the large carcass was being hoisted unto the docks. The smell coming off the thing was incredible!
He had seen the rotting leathery wings and serrated beak before. Another flyer. Where were these primeval beasts coming from? It was like the ocean spat them back because she couldn’t stand the smell...
Jakov, the inventor who was studying the things was ecstatic. He was going on about the need to offer a bounty for the capture of a live specimen. It was strange how the inventor didn’t seem horrified by the carcass strange appearance.
Almost as if he had seen these things before...
Heya everyone, great to be getting into the flow of things again! This adventure hex is inspired by Jeromy Smith's creative input: 'bounty', which somehow quickly turned into a brainstorm session about a menagerie of dinosaurs and other primeval creatures, and how people would probably pay handsomely for a live specimen of their own.
The rest of the mini-hexcrawl consists of various adventure hooks I used throughout an old campaign of mine. I think it brings the theme together quite well.
I hope you all have fun figuring out what the wizard's ultimate fate was and maybe go dino collecting yourself! Just watch out for old Shrewdworm the owl sitting on that statue...he's probably behind everything...
PS. thanks to Thessius from the RPG Tips Youtube channel for coming up with the name of the black dragon: Varam’Tul the Deathcloud!
Cheerio,
