"You jerk awake right before falling asleep in your chair. They are watching. Waiting for you to let your guard down. Yet, no one else in the abbey guesthouse seems to notice them. Dark forms visible out of the corner of your eye, staying just beyond the limit of your awareness.
When you arrived at the abbey it was to recover. It was easy to believe your overactive imagination was playing tricks. You blamed anxiety after barely surviving a particularly harrowing adventure.
Back then it was just a single shadow at the edge of your vision, gone when looked at directly. Now wherever you go, the watchers in the shadow follow."
Heya, everyone! I made this adventure seed inspired by Jim's creative input: 'Unaware'. Which was kind of tricky, but fell into place once I decided to try something new and whip out my old Call of Cthulhu ruleset. As a result, and as an experiment, I tried keeping the descriptions viable for both a normal fantasy game and Call of Cthulhu.
The watchers in the shadow adventure seed is easily injected into a running game by substituting the 'harrowing adventure' elements with a suitable previous PC experience, that also resulted in a recovery period. Enjoy keeping those tired character eyes open!
Cheerio,
John
