If you wanna see poor Keanu being totally outclassed from every side by actors well above his own talents (at the time) watch 1993's Much Ado About Nothing - Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Denzel Washington, Kate Beckensale, and Michael Keaton stealing every god damn scene he's in.

Fanboys and 10 Things are awesome. For Michael J Fox, Iβd reach for The Secret of My Success or For Love or Money.
Mighty Ducks was formative for me.
Sex Drive is funny.
Real Steel is entertaining even if the fusion of Twilight Zone and Rocky isβ¦odd.

Went to the movies with my friends when this came out - to see Starship Troopers. Except one of them was only 17, so we couldn't get in. We had to settle for this instead. Yeah, in Canada Starship Troopers was rated R and this was rated AA. Well done protecting impressionable young minds from sex and violence, ratings board!

I think (in #1) they tried to convey how fast he can fly them to NYC and back, and he "forgot to time them"

Hey G & S. The Devil's Advocate is an official role in the Roman Catholic Church's canonization process, and is tasked with arguing against bestowing sainthood on candidates.

I didn't catch the omnipresent part, but I do like that idea. Good call.

i think you may have missed their point. they were talking about the 4th wall break and nod and wink at camera was too silly. nothing to do with the message, just the presentation.

I think both of you missed the point of the ending scene. It wasn't simply a joke. In the earlier scene when Milton is showing Kevin how everything he did was his own choice, and that he could have just lost any of these cases, Kevin says he doesn't lose. And Milton replies that Vanity is his favorite sin. You guys were talking over that line so perhaps you missed it. But that's the point; Kevin's fundamental sin was Vanity, caring more about his own personal success than in caring for Mary Anne or in doing the right thing. When time is reset and Kevin does "the right thing", Milton uses the same lure on him again, this time with the promise of fame ("60 Minutes! You're a star!") as a good guy lawyer with a conscience. And it appears Kevin falls for it... again. Milton will get a second bite at the apple, if you will. "Vanity... definitely my favorite sin."

The Al Pacino speech reminded me of The Randy Newman's "Relax, Enjoy Yourself" from his album/musical Faust:

Cheat: the song features God, the Devil, and an angel child.
Another song from the album is the fun "How Great Our Lord":

I was only allowed to watch the "TNT" version... They basically recut the sex scene and camera cuts when her dress drops at the end... The funniest part was replacing the curse words with nonsense...

I disagree, I loved that end with the Devil talking to the camera. The Devil breaking the fourth wall shows he's omnipresent. It's also there to show that the Devil will never stop tempting him. At least that's how I interpreted it. I also disagree with some parts feeling "disjointed". I felt the shredding scene was done just fine, it was supposed to be a secret, Keanu's chracter was surprised when he saw it as he thougth no one else was working that late. They were commiting an illegal act. I guess I'm not sure what confused George so much about that scene.
I do agree with George regarding Keanu Reeves. I find he's not that good in really dramatic roles where he needs to convey different ranges of emotions. He's great in roles like John Wick, Speed, and The Matrix where he's pretty much playing a one dimensional character. He definitely doesn't have the acting range of Pacino or Charlize. He's not a horrible actor, he's just kind of mediocre.

Typical addict behavior, George, to immediately try to push chestnuts on poor innocent Simone. That's a gateway nut, well know that.
