The Count of Monte Cristo

Comments

Love this film. My friend and I have been playing King of the Moment for about 24 years now. When we went to London, we brought the King with us and took photos everywhere. He currently sits on my bookcase.

China Andronicus

One of my all time favorite movies.

Sharnia Buford

The link is in the description of this post.

George Simone

were is the full version to watch?

Phluke Skywalker

One of my all time favorite books!

ET

Christopher Johnson!? I'm Christopher Johnson!

ShoNuff3000

Is that a Harry Potter Lego sitting on the printer beside Simone?

ChiefKC

Re: Henry Cavill always looked the same, search for “Fat Cavill Graham Norton” on YouTube.

Keith Bishop

One of my all time favorite movies.

Sharnia Buford

Try Person of Interest series! Caviezel is in it and its amazing!!!

Jayson Phillips

I'm so glad you guys reacted so emotionally to this film. I saw this in theatres and felt the same way. It really is a great story

Ashkaun

Fanboys and Sex Drive are fun. Mighty Ducks was formative for me. 10 Things I Hate About You is fabulous. Well worthy of the gold popcorn buckets it won.

jmundt33a

Long way from Shotgun Ed Exley

jmundt33a

Isolde is played by the gal from Moonlight, right?

jmundt33a

V For Vendetta even has clips of the black and white version where they had the reunion with Mercedes (apparently not in the book) and Albert settling down with Vampa’s daughter (apparently in the book).

jmundt33a

Strange isn’t his wheelhouse. He more fits that Thunderbolts member, Walker. With more soul.

jmundt33a

I don't know whether to cry or laugh with youtube autotranslator

If you liked Jim Caviezel in this, then check out "Person of Interest". It's about an ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) that alert him to people about to be involved in crime. The catch is he doesn't know if they are the victim or the perpetrator.

ChiefKC

I always thought Caviezel should have been Doctor Strange just because of the stairs shot after the balloon. Funny George said he had hero wind in that moment.

Derek McCasky

Such a fantastic movie!

Christopher Johnson

Also, that prison Château d'If was the inspiration for Alcatraz.

Jesse

One of the great stories that has been highly influential across media. Oldboy is an homage to it, V for Vendetta is inspired by it and the older tv show or movie (can't remember) is playing in the background on one scene, I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting at the moment.

Jesse

Richard Harris was personally kind of a pill. He was the performer for the melodramatic song "MacArthur Park" (someone left the cake out in the rain), but despite being corrected repeatedly in the booth, kept singing "MacArthur's Park" because he just couldn't be bothered to give a shit. Note that even when Jim Caviezel commits to the pronunciation of VEE-for, Harris just sits on VIL-a-FORT.

Garrett Jay Christian

Bout time y'all reacted to this movie. Wish more channels would. But, hey, at least now my favorite channel has, so I can rest.

MercyMirror

She is also married to Patrick Wilson so it is also a good opportunity to plug Fargo Season 1 and 2

Hi Majed, it seems like Patreon has some weird bug going on with your account. Right now when we click on your account name, it is listed as "Blocked" yet you do not appear in our list of banned users. Not to mention if you were actually a banned account, you wouldnt be able to leave this comment in the first place. If we try to search for your user name or the email address you tried to access our site with on Patreon, neither comes up. We will have to contact Patreon support to figure out whats going on with your account.

I was thinking when they said that he looked like Jesus... do they know that he played Jesus in The Passion of the Christ? (Hey, another movie in which he gets brutally whipped and tortured!)

Jeff K

He looks more like Jesus right now? 🤨

ShoNuff3000

I love this movie, and I saw it before reading the book, but the book is still SO MUCH BETTER. And considering how good the film is, just imagine how good that means the book must be. The difference between the two I think is a question of "complexity". The novel has time to weave more webs around every turn and corner, while the movie has to draw straight lines from A to B. Henry Cavill has a very similar role in the 2006 film "Tristan & Isolde". For the longest time I only thought of him as "the young prince in period pieces" actor. "Tristan & Isolde" may also make a good film for the channel, but bear in mind that it is not as good as this movie.

Duck I says

Jeromy M

Guy Pearse plays the absolute best slimeball villain. He is so good in this, you just want to punch him,

Christina Doxstader

I was hoping this would be about the sandwich.

Kyle B

A shoutout on the reaction to one of my favorite movies. Awesome.

jmundt33a

Ok last one: you might recognize the actor who plays Luigi Vampa. He was Gus Fring’s doctor in Mexico.

Jeff K

You guys have also seen Richard Harris in Unforgiven, as the Duck of Death.

Jeff K

Michael Wincott is a fabulous secondary villain. Guy of Guisborne in Prince of Thieves and Rochefort in the 1993 Three Musketeers. Which would be something else I’d like to suggest. But lightly.

jmundt33a

If you’d seen Cold Light of Day, you’d have thrown up into the nearest wastebasket at the news.

jmundt33a

Saying “Eighteen Oh Six” is a scripting goof. They should have said “Eighteen Six.” Sorry, old memory from a finicky English professor.

jmundt33a

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Wind River next please.

Jeromy M

I remember when the news of Henry Cavill first getting cast as Superman broke, and I'd only ever seen him in this and hadn't seen any of his other work in between, so I was like, "Ugh, the little dork from Count of Monte Cristo? Awful." And then I saw what he'd grown up to look like and quickly retracted those statements.

Jeff K

Damn you. Now I have to upgrade my membership to watch the full version. One of my favorite movies.

Stoodles

I think you fine folks would enjoy the 1981 film Dragonslayer.

Ronny Boss

Queen of the damned (Ann Rice Vampire) Repo the Genetic Opera (Gothic Musical) God Bless America (funny thought provoking, better than falling down) Fanboys (Hilarious nerd comedy) Sonic ( Sonic, Obviously) 10 Thing I hate about you (Obvious, said you guys where going to) Sex Drive (Very funny, seth green) I now pronounce you chuck and Larry (death by laughter) Animatrix (Really cool animated sci-fi) A.I. Artificial Intelligence (Cool and sad Sci-fi) IQ (Awesome Romcom) Mighty Ducks (Feel good sports comedy) A score to settle (Good Nicolas Cage Action) Real Steel (Feel good family action comedy) Stewart Little (Jonathon Lipnicki, Michael J Fox) The Little Vampire (Jonathon Lipnicki)

Morion Williams

The woman who plays Mercedes is in the show Succession, so I'm gonna use this as an opportunity to throw that one out there (to keep it on upcoming polls, that is, in hopes it finally breaks through).
