2025-09-28 02:48:49 +0000 UTCPeter Jackson was actually making King Kong movie in 1997-8. It was in early production but got cancelled. Then he made Lord of the Rings. When they were big successes Universal got back to him and asked if he wanted to make King Kong and he said yes. Pre-production started when Return of the King was in post-production.

2025-09-19 23:01:01 +0000 UTCThrowing a random recommendation in to check out American Me. It's a gangster movie that covers the origins of The Mexican Mafia and used real gang members as extras. The film is fantastic and the behind the scenes stories of what occurred during filming to the extras adds to the weight of the film and it's overall message.

2025-09-16 19:36:07 +0000 UTCDue to Robert Redford passing you should try watching some of his films, they're fantastic! I'd recommend either All the President's Men, a film about the journalists investigating Watergate, you all have said in the past you love competent people doing things competently and this is just that. You don't need to know much about Watergate to get enthralled. And or, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, a western which has great chemistry between the main two protagonists and gets you empathizing with some morally gray people.
