If you want another film with some of the Monty Python clan, see YELLOWBEARD. It stars Graham Chapman, John Cleese, and Eric Idle. It also stars Madeline Khan, Marty Feldman, and Peter Boyle (of Young Frankenstein). It also has Cheech & Chong. It’s my personal favorite Guilty Pleasure film.

I got my funeral stuff taken care of, and the people arranging it were incredibly kind, but unable to arrange what I wanted due to California state law: my corpse upright in a coffin in a bar, with a shot glass in my hand that folks could fill; blues playing in the background, Buddy Guy, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Son House. So I guess I’ll just get burneded.

My mum was the complete opposite of Simone’s. Absolutely wanted everything to be very mournful and sombre. If she could have had it, I think she would have had the home decked out in black curtains and choirs singing laments the whole time 😆. I have been to too many funerals that I’m sort of numb to them now. In the span of 6 years I lost my mum, 4 grandparents and an uncle.

This is my least favorite of the Monty Python movies but I enjoyed them all. I just cannot watch that vomit scene. I had my hand up blocking it and just looked you guys reaction. There's a movie called Yellowbeard which has a bunch of the Monty Python cast along with Cheech and Chong

The show, Monty Python's Flying Circus, came before the movies and has a lot of truly legendary bits of comedy . However, like all sketch comedy shows, particularly ones as heavily experimental and abstract as Monty Python, it's very hit-and-miss, with some sketches not quite landing and some going on too long. The movie "And Now For Something Completely Different" (named for the non-sequitur that became one of the running gags of the series), is a recreation of many of the most iconic sketches from the series. On a laughs per minute basis, it's probably the funniest of their movies (IMO), but it's often overlooked because if you've seen the series, it's mostly redundant. But since you haven't seen the series, ANFSCD is a perfect way to get a good sampling of what made it so legendary.

I loved this movie as a teenager, as I matured I came to appreciate how wildly uneven and generally inferior to the other films it is...though Find the Fish remains one of my favourite skits of any kind, in anything, ever. Would love to see a reaction to the Flying Circus (despite some of the jokes being rather dated), or to save time just watch And Now For Something Completely Different for the greatest hits.

i'm pretty sure y'all saw Fish Named Wanda, next it's time to do Fierce Creatures, a hilarious movie with the same cast!

And now for something completely different... I wonder if George knows about the Wubi method of Chinese character entry. I use steno (I'm writing this in steno omg), and that world just lead me to this tonight: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wubi_method it's a stroke-based system on a [nearly] regular keyboard, where you can get to just about any character in only 4 strokes, and you don't need to know the pronunciation, like you do in steno. If the character needs more than 4 strokes, you do the first 3, and skip to the final one. Apparently this is enough to make almost all characters have unique entries. Pretty cool. It says the fastest users can get up to 160 character per minute, which I would like to see.

Your talk at the beginning made me think you might like 'Six Feet Under' if you haven't watched it yet. I'm not sure if there's a large audience for it in the reaction world, but I'd certainly watch.
