It's interesting, and i definitely want to see where they go with this. With regards to Saville, it's not like he was a much loved figure up to his death, and then we found out the horrible stuff, it was more gradual - when i was young in the 80's he was an absolute massively loved public figure. In the 90's still popular, but also a lot of jokes/rumours and people thinking 'this guy is weird', by the 2000's i think most people knew/thought there was something off, we just didn't know specifics. People should check out the Louis Theroux documentary from 2000 for an idea of the general feeling around that time.
My guess is within the movie world, Jimmy was left alone to fend for himself, found videotapes of Savilles shows and looked up to him in some way, then over the next 28 years found other lost, orphaned children to take on and mold in his style.

Really enjoyed this movie - it wasn't afraid to be different and just accepted it! As far as the whole Jimmy Saville biz - within the 28 Years Later Universe...civilization in the UK would have collapsed prior to his death so the allegations wouldn't be known. Jimmy Saville would still be a revered figure within Universe. 28 Days Later = 2002. Saville died in 2011. Just an idea. What does everyone else think?

I'm glad y'all liked this, and it seems like George was especially excited to share his thoughts at the end, but I think he needed to take a breath and listen to Simone once or twice in there. Normally, you two have good discussions, but this one felt a little too one-sided.

Jimmy was the little boy at the start of the film and we’ll see more of him and his crew in the 2nd film in January, I think it is. They shot both back-to-back but don’t think the third film has been greenlit yet.

Both men recently got sentenced to 4 years 3 months in prison, which is way less than they deserved. Fuck both of them.

I feel you Simone, I saw this in the cinema with my boyfriend and I had to fight so hard to hold back the tears during that scene 😭

Those shots of the Sycamore Gap Tree make me mad all over again given what happened. I hope those guys got thrown in a cell with a 300lb very lonely prisoner named Bubba.

Off-topic, but Terrence Stamp died today. He's best known for playing General Zod in Superman 2 and the very beginning of Superman (1978). I know you just released your reaction to the first Superman this week, but any plans on doing the sequel?
On topic, I just got done watching your reaction to 28YL. It was a great movie. I really enjoyed it. More than I thought I would. Looking forward to the sequel.

havnt watched the first two movies in ages, had no expectation of the movie and it still disappointed me in the cinema, my friends also didnt like it.
right after the movie I watched 28 days later with a friend and it was soooooo much better, even tho its a low budget movie and really reduced but that is its strength.

I think an additional reason why they didn't title this film as "28 Months Later." It might be from a crappy mockbuster that rips-off this franchise called "28 Months After" in the early 2010s. Even its poster used many imagery and colors from the first two 28 later films.

I am excited to see your reaction to this movie. I personally found the film alright. I just hate how they ignore most if not all of 28 weeks later mainly because I really enjoyed that one.

The ending would have worked better if it was a post-credits scene. As it is, it’s tonal whiplash from the rest of the movie.

I believe it's going to be a trilogy, so they are gearing up for more. I'm on team liking the wacky ending, Jimmy was a kid that watched cartoons until the infection hit, growing up into a power rangeresque survivor is a choice but I like it.

I loved it but still not sure what I think about the ending. We’ll see what the next film brings. Also going to be “interesting” to see the rest of the world uncover the life and times (and horrors) of Jimmy Saville, which is not a sentence I thought I’d type about a 28 days later film.

Looks like Simone's allergies are flaring up. Must have eaten some bad shellfish.
