Two Wish-List items: 1. For films that have multiple sequels it would be great to include the Cardinal Number in brackets at the end of the title (unless it’s possible to add an attribute for “releaseCardinal” and concatenate that to the title in the grid). Think of Bourne, Die Hard and especially Bond! 2. Take the Random Movie Reaction button and enhance it to randomly display One Each for every Movie Genre. I think you would first Randomize the Genres, then as they are chosen check that it wasn’t already picked for another Genre looping until there are no dupes. Aside: because of prequels you might also choose to have an attribute for timelineCardinal as well FWIW: $0.02

Trying to work out how I feel about "Loud as a Whisper". There are some parts that really worked: learning and developing sign as a framework for understanding each other, the decision to kill off the chorus. The premise could have made this a great episode. But I agree with Simone and George that Riva is really unlikable. And honestly? it's the hair. He has 80s Movie Dickhead Hair. It automatically makes me think he's a dick, and then when he *acts* like a dick, it confirms all my suspicions, and then he's just unlikable.

hi emmanuel, yeah sadly whatever changes Patreon made on their end with the account verification statuses seems to have broken a few user accounts. the best solutions found so far is to change your email address in your patreon account, which will force patreon to send a new verification email link to the account. alternatively, send a support request to Patreon and asking for them to look into your accounts verification status, explaining that even though you are verified, you are still flagged as otherwise.

I am also getting the error: "access_denied". "Please verify your email through patreon" message when I try to get to cinebingers.ca. I tried both safari and then firefox with no luck. My email was verified already and I have been able to watch stuff on your site up until last week.

Hi Florian, when you get the restricted access message, does the message end with an email? Indicating which account/email address you are logged in with? If so please make sure you are using the correct account. If the message is without an email address, it likely then is due to any vpn or plugins/extensions your browser may have that's blocking the site. If that's the case, disabling those would help. You can also narrow down which the cause is by trying to access the site with another browser or another device.

Thank You for making this, I had another patreon I subscribed to that started their own website and it was a nightmare lol. The interface wasn't that bad but with no idea how to navigate the page and how they had it set up it became a big turnoff for me and almost felt intentional for some odd reason. I just wanted to mention that The Iron Giant, the sound of the movie is very low, I had to max out the volume to watch it but then when you guys talk you blew my eardrums lol... Sorry for being a "nudge" I am an old head 61/M and I seem to be having issues with the severe buffering every time I want to watch a movie on cinebingers.ca I didn't see a search option for comments so I apologize ahead of time if this has been a repetitive comment. George I was also wondering if you could turn on subtitle option for all the movies on cinebingers. I have a really hard time falling asleep with the 300 digital ideas running through my mind. I like to turn on movies I have seen a hundred times and watch them while my wife falls asleep in 3 minutes; I will be up for hours, just asking from one Logician to another. The point you make at the end George about shifting between plot A and B feels jarring, and how House did it really well. Well... Gene Roddenberry had a rule that there would be NO inter-personal conflicts on TNG, and in the first season especially was very controlling over scripts. So the reason it's so jarring is because in House Jenice would have interjected something in the time conversaion, like "you have a habit of not showing up...", like a dig or something. Gene didn't want any of that, so we get this instead. His influence fades more over the next few seasons, and I'm looking forward to your reactions to PRIME TNG.

I wouldn’t doubt for a second that he feels completely responsible for what happened, bc “This wouldn’t have happened if I wasn’t there” line of thinking. Two corrections have to be made: one for time dilation due to speed relative to the Earth's surface and one for time dilation due to depth in the Earth's gravity well. The former makes satellite clocks appear to tick slower; the latter makes them appear to tick faster - however, the two effects don't cancel out. In fact the second factor dominates. There is no universal time nor , in fact, any reliable notion of now in the Universe. Moving observers in different frames of reference can measure different intervals between two events, although they should see them occur in the same order if the events are causally connected.

Re "We'll Always Have Paris," Regarding whether time in Sci Fi is universal, the scientific tryth that we know of is that time is not constant across the universe. That is not just theoretical, it has been proved by our GPS system. The satellites that coordinate GPS are actually several microseconds off of the earth's time every year and it appears to correlate to their position relative to earth's center of gravity. So although George complained about that aspect of science fiction, it is possibly the only detail of time travel in fiction that is based on fact.

I love Star Trek because for me it is NOT a SciFi show -- it is a philosophy(?) show and a society-commentary show. It doesn't really try to bulldoze a specific agenda: One is usually left *debating* the episode and *thinking* about "Side A" and Side B'! I love it! .... Here's what bugs me sometimes: The Prime Directive episodes really go out of their way to allow the audience a discussion (matriarchal society of sexists; symbiosis or exploitation; 'tribal'(?)-Africa gender relationships; god of a hedonist planet where you can't break the glass house. Etc.) All to make the audience -- to make society -- think and reevaluate and consider both sides of an argument. And the show just says "You CAN'T play god!" And we the audience, we in society, discuss it. Again, I love it! .... I absolutely disagree that it's wishy-washy or inconsistent or flimsy. I DO acknowledge that if we're trying to separate the show's purpose of "Making its audience (society) think and consider both sides of an issue" and treat this as a SciFi show with its own universe of a Campaign Setting or what-have-you, that one can find holes in internal consistency. (Even then, I can find a near bullet proof argument that "In-Universe" it is NOT inconsistent. But that's different.) Ultimately, Star Trek is NOT (I argue) SciFi. It is social commentary. And "Symbiosis" is a GREAT episode that makes us Talk.

watch Lost! Its one of the greatest Sci fi/Mystery shows of recent memory and it definitely walked so shows like Stranger Things and Fringe could run. If you like a bunch of random stuff happening to people on a lost island, with a great soundtrack by Michael Giacchino (Up, The Incredibles, among other things) then you'll love Lost. It's one my favorite shows of all time.

I used to have an extensive DVD collection (hundreds, perhaps thousands), but was forced to suddenly abandon it along with most of my other possessions. This limited my ability to find videos to sync with whatever Cinebinge was featuring, as I'd have to purchase a new DVD or streaming/download title if the video of interest wasn't currently in rotation on Netflix or Prime (the only two such services I use), so I'm quite happy with the channel's no-sync feature, which adds tremendous value to the subscription. I've sampled and enjoyed a few other reactors' content, but prefer the collection, curation, and personality of this one. It is fascinating to me that normal people can earn a living by growing an online following that pays to watch them react to visual media and become virtual celebrities. The amount of time and effort spent behind the scenes on editing the content to render the presentation at least somewhat professional is also appreciated. Looking forward to whatever the hosts have in store for us, whether it's something already familiar to me or a selection about which I'm entirely clueless.

I love the new format. It solves one of my major gripes with reaction sites, which is how difficult it can be to find a specific reaction. Excellent work recognizing that and addressing it. More James Bond would be my wishlist, and hopefully a reaction to "You Only Live Twice" (1967), in which you will notice where Austin Powers got a lot of its inspiration.

Hi Mark, are you referring to Patreon page or Cinebingers.ca? on Patroen there are the collections tab that lists all TV shows in their own little groups, and on our website there is a drop down menu at the top for all tv series, functioning the same way.
