The movie "The Terminal" is based on the true story of Mehran Karimi Nasseri, an Iranian refugee who lived in the departure lounge of Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport for 18 years, from 1988 to 2006. Nasseri was stuck in legal limbo due to a lack of proper residency papers and a refugee passport. While the movie takes creative liberties with the details, it is largely inspired by Nasseri's extraordinary circumstances.

One thing I find a bit implausible is for someone who doesn't know how to speak our language or at least don't know how to read our language (as shown when he couldn't understand the scrolling letters on the TV in the beginning other than his country's name), I don't think he'd have been able to teach himself how to understand English by comparing book in English next to same book in his language. I mean I couldn't learn French by reading French text in comparison to English text because I don't know how the words are pronounced or how to speak the words in correct order. I mean at first it seems very genius but I quickly felt it wouldn't be plausible without some basic understanding of how our letters and words are pronounced.

Krakozhia is based on a fake Russian-esque country. B.H (visibily) would translate to V.N from Cyrillic script.

Diego Luna played Cassian Andor in Star Wars Rogue One and also the show Andor.

I get how blatantly they had to do the product placement given how massively expensive that entire terminal set must have been to build, though, and all the extras, just for a dramedy. It must have been a huge headache to budget out this film.

George Simone

I miss the old third member of the channel, Chet Baker.

Wow great film. I'm sorry, Tom, I doubted you playing a Russian non-English speaker ten minutes into this. I'll never do it again. Yea they did good with the non-overt branding spots...except one. There was a massive brand placement for a straight 27 second shot, which is SO long for a brand spot...big, bright, green, placed perfectly in the frame between Hanks' and Jones' heads lol. Any guesses? Starbucks! Who else lol. I was like...really?? 1:14:39 - 1:15:06 on the no sync version, I had to go find it 😋

Wasn't expecting this movie to break Simone quite so comprehensively... Also please watch Brokeback Mountain at some point!

This was one movie I always knew cause it was Spielberg but I didn't actually watch it until last year cause I just expected it to be boring but it's such a sweet film! I really enjoy it. Sometimes Steven Spielberg's newer movies can be a little dull but this isn't the case!

Daniasaurus

I love simones reactions, they are just awesome. It's also great seeing the difference in their reactions. Sometimes she is sad or disappointed and he is just laughing his ass off, it's great.

Morion Williams

I'm surprised you guys didn't seem to recognize a young Diego Luna (Rogue One, Andor).
