Movie Poll: A bit of everything!
Added 2025-06-16 12:00:08 +0000 UTCThe last weekly polls winner will be available this Saturday.
Reminder: movies that don't win does not mean they will never be watched, it just means they will be watched later. Please be respectful to each others opinions, we're all just here to have fun and watch movies. :)

Dark city is a great movie that deserves a watch but Dallas Buyers Club is an absolute must watch, Jared Leto steals the show even though Matthew McMonaughey won an oscar for it.

2025-06-22 06:01:43 +0000 UTCI like The Terminal really much. The Dark City is definitely a must-watch! But if you watch Dark City, you also should watch "The Thirteenth Floor" too. :)

2025-06-19 15:13:19 +0000 UTCI saw a comment recently (maybe on this poll, not sure; I can’t immediately find it again, so apologies to whoever made it) wondering about the worst performing movies. I was intrigued so had a quick look into it. *disclaimer(s) – The below was based on using Patreon’s tags/search, which isn’t great so some may have been missed. Also, I didn’t go back further than the start of 2022; before then polls generally had much lower number of overall votes, and I was getting bored xd. So, the 5 worst performing movies as a percentage of the total number of votes in their corresponding polls are; The Snow Walker 1.16% Burnt 1.40% 3 Idiots 2.37% The Farewell 2.38% The Power of Dog 2.52% A few other things that jumped out to me – as expected, within the larger list of low performers there is a large number of ‘only new to George/Simone’ movies, but within the top (bottom?) 5 above, only The Farewell fits this trend. – Ip Man 2 has been in at least 3 polls, but came last each time, never getting more than 4.7% – City of God came last with less than 5% multiple times, but did end up being watched

2025-06-19 07:34:35 +0000 UTCUHF is so underrated. It came out in 1989 and had to compete against Batman, Indian Jones Last Crusade, Lethal Weapon 2 , Ghosbusters 2, Back to the Future 2, Major Leage and so many other good movies.

2025-06-19 01:41:56 +0000 UTCA very eclectic bunch of movies. I haven't seen Only the Brave, so can't really comment on that one. (I've heard good things, though). Don't care much for UHF. Glad to see The Terminal, Dark City, and Philadephia in the top three spots. An Almost Rom-Com (light comedy-drama), a heavy drama (which would pair well with Dallas Buyers Club), and a classic Sci-Fi. I also wouldn't have objected to Soul (Disney-Pixar is almost always a winner when it comes to their animated fare).

2025-06-18 23:57:22 +0000 UTCThis Patreon/YouTube isn't for what we think they'll like more, though. xD I'm not voting for what Simone/George will dig on. Instead, I vote on which movie I think they'd have a quality reaction to with their personalities/likes and dislikes.

2025-06-18 18:44:38 +0000 UTCI’m so glad The Terminal is beating Dark City. I think more people vote for what they want to see and not for what George and Simone will enjoy more.

2025-06-18 11:58:56 +0000 UTCAlright, so The Terminal is still winning. If nothing else that did draw something to my attention though: this channel has somehow had a shocking lack of Stanley Tucci. One of the most charismatic, best scene stealing character actors of the past 30 years, and I think maybe the only thing the channel has briefly seen him in was a bit role in The Hunger Games. Some faves he is in: Undercover Blues (1993) -- Hilariously playing a character who calls himself "Muerte". First time I'd seen him. one of those guys that seemed to break onto the scene already middle aged. The Pelican Brief (1993) -- he has only a small role, and atypical for him. but its a quality thriller. Easy A (2010) -- the movie family of Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson, and Emma Stone was an absolute charisma overload. You guys should watch this one someday. Road to Perdition (2002) -- the same Hanks and Tucci pairing 2 years earlier than The Terminal. Great looking period (early 20th) piece gangster film.

2025-06-18 00:34:02 +0000 UTCSimone & George IF DARK CITY WINS...... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WATCH THE DIRECTOR'S CUT OF DARK CITY. The theatrical release, while good, has a studio-mandated opening monologue that spoils the whole movie. Your friends at Maplenuts React have already seen this one, probably you know.

2025-06-17 19:41:58 +0000 UTCMuch like my beloved Stranger Than Fiction, I'm hoping the pure enthusiasm for Dark City in the comments will be enough to get it into the pipeline even if it doesn't actually win the poll (especially given it's polling better than STF ever did). And as you may expect, I will join in the vocal chorus of people asking for the Director's Cut over the theatrical cut. In America, Prime does have the DC, so hopefully the same is true elsewhere.

2025-06-17 18:42:05 +0000 UTCThe 2400+ plus people who didn't vote for UHF are silly doo doo heads, and I hope all their meals taste slightly weird going forward. Just slightly.
