I don't think it would be a good fit for the channel or maybe any channel but the show that the director did with Miles Teller called Too Old to Die Young is one of the most wild bat shit amazing cinmatic experiences. It's the definition of every frame could be in a museum. it's so beautifully shot. I love Only God Forgives, The Neon Demon and that show. Drive is his most accessible movies though.

I could write a very long paragraph about why I love this movie. But i'll just recommend Chris Stuckman's video on it. It's great

I know the guy who now owns that scorpion jacket, his daughter helped ghostwrite the script I believe. Using Kavinski and College for the soundtrack was impeccable, and if you guys haven’t ever played or seen the game Hotline Miami, give it a look, it has a mildly similar vibe

Its a good movie but this kind of character film goes back to at least 1967 with “Le Samouraï”. More of a modern update/interpretation.

The Baby Driver similarity stops at getaway driver. I feel like the show Barry has more in common with some of the tonal shifts in Drive, and it is also set in LA. Maybe Bill Hader took some inspiration from this movie. Like Breaking Bad and Drive mashed together.
I love the deliberate stillness and general quietude of this film. To your comments on the elevator scene, after he moves her aside like that (HOOOOOOOOOOOT!) and kisses her (swoon?), he looks at the mob dude and the dude immediately goes for his gun, Rene saw that, so I think she understands what is happening.
It doesn't change the fact that "Driver" literally stomps that dude's skull to mush in front of her and that he probably isn't a safe person to have around. His expression barely changed but there is a look in his eyes, like he is somehow not entirely in control of that reaction and is a little horrified by it, but necessity drives it.
See this movie a bunch of times I never get tired of it. I like that the lack of dialogue and a less structured narratives leaves us room to imagine but also somehow still tells a story worth watching.

This movie actually changed cinema, so many copycats of style and tone afterwards.

If you're looking for a similar style, Hana-Bi (Fireworks) by Takeshi Kitano (1997) might be the way to go.
It's a bit "niche" and I don't know how many views it will get.
But I think you'll like it very much.
Gorgeous shots, awesome music, long moments of silence followed by short bursts of ultra-violence, that's Takeshi Kitano's bread and butter.

Hi Big Bang, sorry to hear about the difficulties. Did the auto locking still occur even when the video is in full screen? and to clarify, do you mean that just rotating/tilting the phone would reload the browser?

Since the plot is a bit confusing, I'll lay it out.
Nino was mad at the mob for a) moving in on his territory and b) all the antisemitic comments they made toward him. So, he paid Cook to rob the place, not wanting it to be tied back to him. Nino knew who he was robbing, but Cook didn't.
Cook pressured Standard into robbing the place via his debt. Cook thought they were getting only 40K and didn't know the place was mob-run.
Nino hired the other guy (the buddy in the sling who Ernie killed) to rob Standard right after the robbery. Both Cook and Blanche knew this would happen but didn't know they were stealing from the mob; however, Standard and the Driver had no idea.
No one was supposed to die. However, the mob-run pawnshop owner followed after Standard and killed him (because he is a mob guy). This caused the driver to flee, which caused the other dude in the car to come after him for the money. The driver flips his car and breaks his arm.
Blanche called Cook to let him know what happened. Cook called in a hit on them to get the money back (or maybe he just called Nino, and Nino called the hit).
The driver asked Shannon to track down Cook. Cook asked for help from Bernie, who had no idea any of this was happening or involved Nino. The driver threatened Cook and found out it was Nino.
The driver calls Nino and tries to return the money, but Nino is scared that the mob will find out and decides that everyone must die. He comes clean to Bernie, and Bernie agrees that everyone needs to die too, and Bernie kills the guy in the sling who was supposed to rob Standard.
Shannon tells Bernie what has happened, trying to fix things, including who Irene is. Nino sends one of his dudes after Irene to take hostage to lure the driver out, but the Driver kills that dude in the elevator.
The driver is pissed that Nino knows about his address and Irene, so he confronts Shannon. Things get heated, but he calms down and tells him to run. Before Shannon can escape, Bernie kills him. The driver, in retaliation, kills Nino and then goes to the meet, knowing it's a trap. He kills Bernie and is stabbed. No one left alive knows about Irene, but the mob can still find out that it was the driver who robbed them and killed their associates, Nino and Bernie, so the driver takes off to protect Irene.
Oh, and my headcanon is that the Driver is a reformed hitman who doesn't want to kill anymore (or a reformed slasher villain). That's why he tells everyone that he won't carry a gun and just drives. He must have run away from someone else and just appeared in LA. Now he has to do it again.

I think Simone needs to introduce the cat at the beginning if the furbaby is going to be there the entire movie. It's only fair to get credited.
