Road Trip - Uncovered Version

Comments

Old School is also Todd Phillips btw. In that one he's the guy ringing the doorbell and asking for the gangbang in the beginning.

Dag Einar Bergli

If you want to see more from the actor that played Ruben he was in 40 days and 40 nights with Josh Harnet. Another raunchy comedy that came out a few years after this.

A funny raunchy movie series to watch what I consider like the original version of American pie-ish comedy, is the Porky's movie series from the early 80's. Porkys (1981)- Directed by Bob Clark

Christian Rodriguez

First one I watched uncovered since the version you had I wasn't able to find (only a 3 minute different so could have just been credits I guess) and I really enjoyed watching it. Whilst not some zoomer kid with the attention span of a gnat I do often play video games and have videos on my second screen and usually split it between your reaction and the watch along copy. Big monitors so it's all good, but I liked that I could still enjoy the film with your reactions. I did notice the bottom of the film is cut off slightly, but since I was only half watching it really didn't matter.. just something I noticed.

I would put a vote in to watch Rat Race, great actors and some hilarious scenes 😁

Mini Noah Wiley... I just watched The Pit, and he really reminds me of him.

This movie is a nexus between so many other films and TV shows. Virtually every extra that popped up was someone I know from 1-3 other things. You guys know Breckin Meyer as the long haired goofy stoner skateboard dude from Clueless. He's also been a voice in 119 episodes of Robot Chicken. The guy with the curly hair Simone wanted to see in more things, Paulo Costanzo, was a star of Royal Pains, a TV show about a Dr. In the Hamptons, and he was also in several episodes of The Expanse, season 1. Obviously, Fred Ward was in all the Tremors films. The creepy guy/cult leader is Anthony Rapp. I thought Simone would recognize him as one of the main cast of Star Trek: Discovery (Paul Stamets), but maybe she hasn't seen any of that yet (he's also the guy behind the fall of Kevin Spacey). The French toast undies guy was Horatio Sanz, who was on SNL for years ('98-'06). "Blind Brenda" was Mary Lynn Rajskub (RICE-cub), who was a major character on 24 (which is an excellent action/thriller show you guys could consider doing), and she was on Mr. Show with Bob (Odenkirk) and David (Cross), also excellent. The mom in the tour group that Tom Green makes out with, Rhoda Griffis was one of the weirdo rich people in The Hunger Games, and I've seen her in several other bit parts. Corky the dog, who spoke while grandpa was high, was voiced by Jimmy Kimmel. Matt Walsh, the guy George called skinny Louis CK (and he looks even more like him now — https://www.earwolf.com/person/matt-walsh/ ), was a UCB member, who's been in all sorts of goofy things, like The Hangover, Ted, Reno 911, and Old School. I know the grandpa with the stiffy from a few things, but the grandma who scolds him was the old lady in everything in the 80s (she was born in 1913, about a year after the Titanic sank). She was in the Golden Girls a few times. She was on Family Matters (the show with Steve Urkel) many times, always as a different old lady. She was on Seinfeld. She was in like 100 shows, but she got super famous in Sandler's The Wedding Singer, which I won't spoil, because I don't think you've seen that one yet . A lot of these goofy comedies bring in a ton of comedians who've been in many other things, but it felt like literally everyone that popped up I knew. The guy who wouldn't let them get the mail I knew. The big guy on the college tour has been in a number of things, like Synecdoche, New York (amazing film, written/directed by Charlie Kaufman, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman). Several of the dudes from the frat house I knew, like Omar J. Dorsey, from several things, like Chicken Charlie in Django Unchained. I think I said "I know him!" or "I know her!" about 30 times in this movie. Oh, and Breckin Meyer was Travis in the Clueless movie, and the old girlfriend in this movie, Beth, played by Rachel Blanchard, replaced Alicia Silverstone as Cher in the 3-season Clueless series that ran starting the year after the film, which also starred a bunch of the original cast from the film. She's literally the Polaroid of perfection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4xB8FZJfRY . Oh, and "the wrong Tiffany", who beat up her wrongly accused boyfriend—Jessica Cauffiel—played Margot in all three Legally Blonde films.

This movie was produced by Ivan Reitman, director of Ghostbusters. Superchunk (from the poster in the dorm room) is a band from Chapel Hill North Carolina formed in 1989. The poster is from a tour in 1999. The boys sure had a lot of Blockbuster rental tapes in their room! I always thought there was a limit on how many you could have out at once, but I don't remember now. Target stores in the US don't seem to have nearly as many checkout lanes as the one in the movie, and these days, most of them are not even staffed with most shoppers using self-checkout. The music during the sex scene with Kyle and Rhonda is Snoop Dogg's "Sensual Seduction": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1PVmANeyAg The "James Bond Theme (Moby's Re-Version)" was in "Tomorrow Never Dies": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MdABLcI7RI Celebrity Skin was just a magazine featuring screen grabs of nude scenes from movies. All that aside, you guys don't seem familiar with Tom Green's work early work, which I guess makes sense. He was born in Ontario, Canada and had a TV show that started in Canada on RogersTV and was eventually shown on MTV in the US. His shtick was kind of like Jackass lite, with shock comedy and grossness. My girlfriend back in the early 2000s was SUPER into him and we watched a lot of his stuff that was on at the time. We saw "Road Trip" back then and I hadn't seen it since until tonight. Season 1 episode one of this show: https://youtu.be/B3eQ0ZkSJVY?si=WboYU1DCzbyAwLIz He was married to Drew Barrymore for about a year. It was sort of a big story at the time. He also had a few other shows and was in a bunch of movies. He's apparently still making TV shows. There is just way too much to go into about his career, so take a look at the Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Green Here is his website: https://www.tomgreen.com/ Anyway, fun reaction. Quite the blast from the past.

im watching this reaction the night before a 10hr, 700 mile road trip :)

THAT’S Why this feels familiar! The two romantic leads of this are the same two romantic leads of Rat Race!!!

Simone's Coconut Squire

I've been to Ithaca, probably 25 years ago, to visit my friend at Cornell University. Very pretty. Very different crowd than my art college pals in Florida. It was weird and fun to spend a night with very smart college kids, literally quoting things from the great books, and stopping as we walked through the halls to bang out a classical piece on a grand piano. My friend was double majoring in math and physics. I went back to my campus and was like "Hey dudes, guess what. We are some straight up morons."

Crispin Glover is in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter(1984) Not Friday expert but I think this is one of the "better" ones and Crispin Glover is legendary in it.

Another opportunity to bring up Goon. Stifler plays a different role

If you wanna see peak Tom Green, check out Freddy got Fingered (title is accurate, idk how YT friendly it is lol)

802jay

“Freddy got Fingered” for a bigger dose of Tom Green. It won worst movie awards but developed a cult following and became beloved with time.
