I know they refer to him as Joe, but it is known that character is called "The Man with no Name" and I always assumed Joe was just an assumed nickname since he never introduced himself as that. It kinda like when a stranger just calls someone he doesn't know Jack, which is how Samurai Jack got his name in the cartoon which i believe is a nod to both Clint Eastwood and Akira Kurosawa. Also I am glad they mentioned the straight up plagiarism from Kurosawa movies. It is also a known thing that Hollywood at this time was notorious for ripping off his movies. See also the Seven Samurai and Magnificent Seven as well as The Hidden Fortress and Star Wars. Other movies that have inspired remakes or homages in TV and film include Rashoman, Stray Dog and High and Low. I really hope you guys do some Kurosawa movies at some point. I feel like you would really see how his work inspired Hollywood films in the later half of the 20th century and how he still influences filmmaking today. I feel like you would be surprised at how modern his movies from the 50s and 60s feel. I would recommend starting with either, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo or The Hidden Fortress.

2025-05-21 07:40:42 +0000 UTCA lot of people have copied off of the 'Dollars' Trilogy'.. Back to the Future 3 did the armored chestplate, plus Marty goes by the name Eastwood all movie as well.. There's a really old (1997) PC game called Outlaws (by LucasArts) that has very Spaghetti Western inspired music.. Ennio Morricone is the film composer for a lot of Spaghetti Westerns and The Ecstasy of Gold is one of my favorites (though the theme can kinda be heard in this movie, it's really full out in The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly)..

2025-05-19 23:39:57 +0000 UTCEspecially for your favorite movies, full screen is best. Also I don’t mind paying people who make good movies. But right now I’m cleaning and getting my kid ready for bed so a Fistful of Dollars is WAY more ideal on my phone at the moment. This is great stuff!

2025-05-19 23:16:48 +0000 UTCInterested in trying out the uncovered version for movies I don't have/can't find relatively easy on streaming. I'll continue to sync when I'm able, because I kind of prefer a full screen of the movie, and a full screen of your reactions on my phone.
