My favorite Mel Brooks movie, and his first, I believe.

There is a History of the World Part 2, itβs on Hulu it came out in 2023, itβs meh, the Hitler on Ice and Jews in Space jokes are there but everything else is new.

Not surprising, given how hilarious he found Hitler and ice rinks on their own.

I think You haven't Reacted to Mel Brooks' first Film: "The Producers" 1967... It's a "Must See" for Everyone who looks to follow His Filmography...

How could you cut the "my tits are falling off!" joke??
Shame on you, and your house.

Itβs my birthday today, so to enjoy the ridiculous shenanigans of Mel Brooks was a delight. Spaceballs was one of the first videos of yours I watched; as always, you guys are awesome

The "lost" Commandments are:
Thou shalt not pass. [Or "impregnate."]
Thou shalt not laugh.
Thou shalt not buy.
Thou shalt not sleep. [Unclear.]
Thou shalt not break.
Of more relevance for you cinephiles, thou shalt not judge Lethal Weapon by Danny Glover.

History of the World part 2 is.... well it's pretty bad. There are a few good sketches in there but you have to go through stuff that's mediocre or just plain terrible to get to it. I had to go back and try and watch an episode or two because I really couldn't remember anything other than it being mostly forgettable. Maybe check it out on your own but I certainly wouldn't try and watch it for the channel. On the other hand... How about some Top Secret? or Loaded Weapon 1?

"Brooks, who was Jewish, made fun of something so horrible and dark."
Yeah, sure, but that was already ancient history. Would he have the balls to make a comedy about an antisemitic abomination taking place in recent living memory?
:-P

The "fifteen... ten! ten commandments!" joke may be my favorite movie joke ever. F... genius.

Since you reacted to this movie starring famed tap-dancer Gregory Hines (in his movie debut), howzabout his White Nights (1985), co-starring Mikhail Baryshnikov*?
* For Simone: "The Russian."

"The Inquistioooon, what a show!"
Brooks, who was Jewish (surprise), made fun of something so horrible and dark. Comedy, and the usefulness of comedy, had so much more balls back then. I think it's starting to come back, slowly.
Looking forward to the reaction!!!
