If you want the origins of Hannibal then you should watch "Hannibal Rising", like the fellow below this comment mentioned. If you want to see the relationship between Will Graham and Hannibal, then you should watch the "Hannibal" series.
I think both are great, the series especially. It would be great to see both of your reactions to those, and the "Hannibal" film, which has a certain great actor in it that is so unrecognisable that I didn't know he was even in it until years later. Letss goooooooooo

Anthony Hopkins' normal speaking voice is beautiful :)
Please watch more of his work he is incredible in literally everything :)
If you haven't seen the first season of Westworld you 100% should react to that on here, just the first season though, it is a completed story.

George and Simone should consider watching Funny Games 2007 (Horror/Crime), Disturbia 2007 (Crime/Thriller) staring Shia Leboeuf, and Primer 2004 (indie/sci fi) … these would make for great reaction videos! 🙏

if anything i view Edward Norton's Character is more like the T.V Series "Crossing Jordan" Character "Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh" played by Actress Jill Hennessy...which in the series it shows where her retired Homicide Police detective father while he was still in service and working active cases late at night he would play a mental mind game called Victim and Killer with her as a young child due to her being very intelligent at a young age...the mind game Victim-Killer is where each would mentally visually place themselves as the Victim and killer or killers and rapidly bounce multiple types of Actions and motives and Multiple types of weapons until finally everything Perfectly falls into place and the light bulb lights up and the killer is shown... Victim-killer in the show is viewed as a dark morbid and dangerous mental game...depending on the stability of a person's mental state. Where if it's weak and heavily damaged the person could easily end up braking and end up becoming an actual killer....i really wish they would bring back Crossing Jordan

That's not quite correct Jason.
We both have dual monitors, always have. You may even notice at times we look off screen, its not us staring at the wall, its us checking OBS and writing notes on the other screen. The reason we dont see eachother is due to network speed as Simone lives in a very rural area deep in the woods, so having camera feed stream out and receiving feeds back in would cause significant lag, resulting in our conversation having major delays.

i'm shocked that it seems like you both don't have at least more then 1-2 screens... the way Simone was telling/describing to George that her hair is super poofy today.... you know if you both have multi screens you both could set up where you both can be able to see each other on an extra screen/monitor. js yall have been doing this for how many years now and you both don't have a triple/quad screen/monitor Computer set up yet.

My grandmother had a pulse/dial phone for years and even got a converter installed so the old phone would properly work with the then-new tone lines. She just loved that phone.

Came to recommend this. The first 2 seasons are immaculate IMO. Great cast, performances, production value. The 3rd season is also really good but I am very partial to those first 2 and it is a huge bummer we didn't get more. Mads Mikkelsen in the role of Hannibal was inspired.

You guys should check out Anthony Hopkins’s instagram. It’s mainly him dancing to salsa music, traveling the world, playing the piano, or playing with his cats. It’s super adorable and it’ll help distinguish how different he is from the Hannibal Lecter persona.

RE: The old phone. It's pulse dialing. Essentially you're just manually recreating what a rotary phone does. You can still do it on some phone exchanges in the US today.
We played around with it in tech school. It's a pain in the a**; you have to remember the number you're dialing, the number of times you've just hit the switch, and get the pauses between numbers right.

One should note, the antihero thing (at least onscreen) is practically all the invention of the film Hannibal. All of his kills there are framed as the “free range rude” as Barney reminds the audience, and all the ones he goes through with onscreen are considerably worse than that. Venal, corrupt, greedy, lecherous, despicable. It changed how the character was seen and understood.
Which is probably what prompted the Hannibal Rising nonsense and sparked the muse for a complete reframing of Lecter and Will’s relationship in the tv show Hannibal.
If that quote is right, Hopkins was signaling
1. No sequels to Hannibal. That story was over when that film faded to black.
2. He was trying to course correct popular culture that was somehow subsuming one of the greatest villains in cinema history into a trope now often called Draco in Leather Pants. Possibly the single creepiest instance until Adam Driver of the 2010s and only truly outdone by Netflix very recently.

Brian Cox originated Lecter, William Petersen for Will Graham, Kim Griest for Mrs. Graham, Dennis Farina for Jack Crawford, and John Polito for the tabloid reporter.

If you want to see the prequel to this, try Hannibal the TV show. It follows younger Will Graham as a profiler who begins to work with younger Hannibal to solve cases while Hannibal begins his prolific career.

I vastly prefer this to Manhunter, but it should be seen. It’s the Miami Vice take on the story.
The look, the cast, the director. The complete grotesquerie of the villain.

I like this movie, but I prefer Manhunter (1986) An earlier movie based on the same book.
I can't entirely quantify why, seeing it first may be a factor but it has a different, very 80's vibe. I find it more rewatchable if that makes sense.
It often gets forgotten as a Hannibal Lecter movie as it predated Silence of the Lambs and has a different cast and production.
