It is a good question, but I do see Cubetown as a place where not every AI's interfaces work with each other, akin to how many languages the Austro-Hungarian Empire had to communicate in.
I imagine a plan to get all the interfaces to seamlessly click via some universal translator thing but it's been in development forever, and whenever a new AI with a unique design shows up another layer is put on the system.

For those who love changing printer toner (though this does not involve a good ker-chunk). For years, decades ago, my parents ran a print shop with two iris Giclee printers. Marvelous things, could print on canvas and watercolor paper, drop a single *blood cell sized* drop of ink in a space. To operate, these printers needed to run ink through their hoses **all the time** to prevent clogging. So use it or not, you have to feed it liquid ink constantly.
