Heck, there've been times before foreign trips where I've looked at a heavy suitcase and seriously wondered about buying much of what I need on arrival, and I'm not rich (I just hate heavy suitcases). However, I suspect that most very rich people, especially fashion victim types, invest too much time and effort into choosing the perfect wardrobe to want to leave it behind. And showing that you can afford any amount of excess baggage allowance is a flex in itself. You need a specific Jobsian minimalist style to pull off minimal packing.
