Teed Up

Comments

Same Liz. Same.

Matt Pedone

RSS still not working?

Jody Raiford

awe liz

Cozy

Not living alone under a pile of refuse has to be an improvement, even for her.

Sleepy John

Maybe they just let you opt out of capitalism in cubetown? That sounds pretty great actually, can I move there?

James C

Plot twist: Marten wrote them on the board, and then after the first customer paid him with loonies and twoonies, realized that this was $CDN. He erased board but hasn't done the currency conversion yet.

ValdVin

"All of Liz's friends". They live in Canada; we wouldn't know them. Wait...

ValdVin

Perhaps they have socialism.

Andrea Andrew

That might be one on the right in the first panel. Or it might be a shelving unit. But there is Liz with robot arms right there, as you maybe are suggesting! Nice vacation from frustrated research for her.

jonesnori

...Evan works here in Cubetown?

Stephen Wells

Heck of a date to bring them all the way to another country for a date. Romantic, but not very practical especially for a coffee date

Donna Flint

I assumed it was more that Marten forgot than Jeph forgot

Maxwell Black

We need her to bring Evan here on an incredibly awkward maybe-date :)

Stephen Wells

they are impressive boots but they still wouldn't add a foot of height

Brad Kirkwood

To be fair, all her actual friends know about this coffee shop.

Andrea Andrew

Price: how much ya got?

Stephen Wells

Is it going to turn out Marten is afraid of espresso machines because of Mr Burny so he's going to have to hire someone with robot arms to operate it?

librarypunk

I notice Jeph still hasn't put any prices up on the menu on the back wall.

Opus the Poet

That's considered a dazzling display of competence in Cubetown!

Uniquitous

It’s a “No, you don’t need coffee. Here is a nice cup of tea.”

legobil

Eh. She can just defenestrate herself outside and roll around in the snow.

legobil

I think he already knew how to use that. He only developed that skill into pouring the coffee into disposable cups.

legobil

Well she is getting talk therapy now. That's bound to help a little.

Opus the Poet

Bard. (Says "charismatic" on the character sheet, invariably played as annoying to everyone else.) But anyway, if someone introduced Liz to D&D, she'd get annoyed at the flaws she perceived in the rules, go off and spend five years creating her own fantasy heartbreaker, self-publish it, and then spend another five years telling people online that they were too stupid to appreciate her masterpiece. So probably better not to do that.

Philip Masters

I think of using the pot as a Skill whereas actually making your customers happy is a Power :)

Stephen Wells

She’s wearing boots not heels!

Miyaa

"developing his barista powers"... He's learned to use a coffee pot!

Phil Allison

The manatee and the manacoffee also

Stephen Wells

Marten providing what the customer needs rather than what they asked for :)

Stephen Wells

Marten is developing his barista powers: the gentleman is no longer yelling :) also clearly Liz should offer to spread the word among her *enemies*

Stephen Wells

“Curse your accurate rebuttal!”

Shane Wegner

Sensible Content

enchantedsleeper

She has heels on, though they seem to add a generous of height xD

enchantedsleeper

Liz seems to be doing so much better than when she first showed up. It's nice to see. (I am a sucker for losers who turn it around.)

Chris Warren

Thinks she's a wizard but is actually an artificer. INT 20, WIS and CHA 8. Maybe 6.

Stephen Wells

I feel sorry for Liz’s therapist because I’m sure she is a couple of hands full, thus the robotic arms.

Miyaa

I don't know what class but her alignment is ChG. She's not evil she's not showing any signs of wanting to hurt people, so I'm going to say she's Good aligned until proven otherwise.

Opus the Poet

Even if Liz is the better fit for Gollum.

Mark

Like Liz is not already bumming free drinks daily

Bagge

Druid with Capybara wildshape

Todd Ellner

Even cleric of light and healing domains

Todd Ellner

Martin said "I don't think a massive dose of caffeine is gonna do you any favors.", he probably changed it to tea, and as such, is also refusing to charge him?

Ohh Crap Guy

Every time I see Liz's interactions, I feel how perfect it is that my puppy is named Liz.

Jared Kolbly

Reading Martin as Gollum: "You don't have any friends"

Todd Ellner

Does Cubetown have a burn ward? Asking for a gremlin

Uniquitous

Ice cold, but not untrue

Yoder of Kansas

Wow. Martin has mastered the rude barista attitude. And he knows exactly when to employ it.

Thisguy

Maybe it's somethin nice and soothing, something to help the nerves

Green

"Jump into the ocean" is actually a euphemism, he's just really into Moray.

BookBeard

BURN!

Yelling Bird

Tea? He ordered coffee…

Brian Leahy

She's standing on a chair... ;)

Ernie O'Dell

is Liz getting taller I could swear she was head and shoulders shorter than Marten on first appearance

Brad Kirkwood

no, a real Claire child would be much punnier

LH

a chaotic "neutral" rogue, perhaps

BeatButton

Did someone call an ambulance? We heard a woman was seriously burned!

William Cole

Ayyyyo!

William Cole

You don't have to: she's *right there*! In today's comic!

William Cole

Wonder what class she'd play. Anybody suggesting Paladin will be attacked by Cthulhu in power armor for pissing off the DM.

Joseph Bonnar

Teed up aaand swing

Jack Foy

Ah. Liz needs a D ‘n’ D group.

Sparky

It’s reflexive; a known issue with that particular model of bionic arm. Not her fault. Means nothing. TOTALLY a coincidence that she is pissed off.

Melissa Wilson

It’s an art form & she has a savant-level knack for it

Melissa Wilson

Not as much as he initially hoped, though, amiright?

Melissa Wilson

This comic made me laugh like a crow, for two separate jokes

pseudoclever

BURN! Marten has never been hotter! 🔥

Melissa Wilson

Nah, it's more like things you've earned taste better. Sometimes it's free-in-money but you earned it by tricking someone or stealing it smoothly, so it still tastes better.

Michael Chui

"Coffee. Tea. Big. Small." Well, no one's going to need help with the menu, at least.

Sleepy John

Goddamn Marten. I fucking snorted

Streb

Liz has arms and hands, and she intends to make it everyone's problem

Streb

True, but free things always taste better. 😁

Catherine Germann

Kinda thought his Final Form was going to be Wise Sage anyway.

Doc Gumby

Took me a second to get Liz's hand motion in the first panel. *sigh* Whaddawegonnadowither?

Doc Gumby

"I'd be happy to cover the register for you... (picks up a towel) otherwise it would get dusty from all those hours you spend with the sign flipped."

Mad Marie

VCs have a CV full of reverse psychology.

Mad Marie

His Barista powers are beginning to come in

Sorastro

Damn marten, that was savage as hell, I'm impressed 🤣

Aditya Rameshan

Marten! Marten, for shame. That was gratuitously unkind.

Claudia D.

LizRekt

MikeT

Wondering why Liz actually wants a free coffee. I mean, she’s hardly spent anything for the last four years of cave dwelling. I hypothesize that her Cubetown pay, already substantial, has probably piled up to a Hogwarts level of galleons and sickles by now.

Holly Nelson

Marten already doing loss-leader marketing, using Liz for reverse psychology. He'll be a VC in no time.

SpookyPenguin

ah, the universe is centered again. ~<3

Mitsuki Ayane

It's now called Straightforward Content.

Sean Kinlin

Hmm. I'd say this fellow's mood has improved as a result of his visit.

Sean Kinlin

The rage eyes! 😂

Zig Justice

Savage

Armcannon Productions

But wait! Harken, all! Is that an espresso machine we see in panel 1? It's finally arrived! Also, has Marten ever before uttered such a cutting remark? (Ask for free coffee, Liz, and you get a burn.)

Ursus Ridens

"Hopefully there will be no more shenanigans wrt the comic" Welcome to the new QC. Everyone is very mature and put together and only makes good decisions

Veronica Jane

Canadian Tire pennies. (You'll need scissors.)

ValdVin

Liz is already a short drink of water.

Sean Kinlin

A little bit of Faye really did rub off on him.

Jose Alfredo Villalobos

It would help if Li offered to cover the register. Best she could score a free coffee then.

Donna Flint

Canadian or US penny? Don't want to under-value those thoughts, you know.

Sleepy John

I'm trying to imagine that child...

Ben R

He's going to see the cow beneath the sea.

Sean Kinlin

Sometimes the most basic of burns are still the best.

Jim Sharkey

I have missed this little gremlin!

Everett Bradshaw

Sly Marten brings forth the eyes of the goblin. Extra funny because I don't know if she's ever whiplashed so fast from her oval, open "asking an adult" face.

ValdVin

Hey, how else are we gonna learn that she's right-handed?

ValdVin

I feel you Liz, i use that gesture at work too. Also, how does she keep finding new depths of gremlindom?

Tannerbot

Parent Marten/Claire is my absolute favorite

Hope

To be fair, one of her friends owns the place. I bet she could swing a free coffee.

Adam Abbott

Me too Liz, me too.

Atramors

i see Marten has already mastered the "bullying your daughter" part of parenting

LH

that's just Liz's default hand motion when someones back is turned

Brendan Luster

If you do, tell your aquatic friends

Andrew

Penny for thoughts there Liz.
