I do feel kinda bad about it goin' down like that, I'd remembered them being such a good couple. Then again, maybe it's just been too long since they've been major characters that I just don't remember if there was any dysfunction there, maybe it's time for a full reread finally (instead of the partial binges I seem to keep going on every couple months where i read like a thousand strips in a haze out of nostalgia after someone posts a link)

Though it could be one of those things where their arguments kept coming back around to it; eventually they decided to throw in the towel. Or Cosette wanted Steve to return the boat, and he didn't want to. Alternatively: that strip is from the universe where Dora and Tai's wedding took place at Veronica and Jim's, and we're in a different timeline.

The usual usage is that your ship needed to have everything tied down and be in good repair when docking at Bristol because you might be grounded by the tide. I double checked this given that docking where your boat is likely to be grounded sounds like a bad idea. Several reasonably trustworthy sites all agree though. The harbour guide page I checked says the same as the others but adds, "In 1803 the problem was resolved by the construction of the Floating Harbour."
