This one's got a surprising dip in likes -- I suspect it's cuz of some tech glitch in delivery, but also --- maybe the turnaround does not resonate with the people having similar issues (true for me, I'm sorry to say) ?

Ísabel Pirsic

This storyline and particularly this page has some really great faces.

Peter Jensen

That's what weed is for! And the next day she'll be back to normal...

Solomon Garland

It needs to have a little motif of Ragemode Liz by it.

enchantedsleeper

I only saw today's comic so I thought we went from headpats to "good talk". Then I checked the main site and realised I'd missed a strip.

enchantedsleeper

What about "The Burnout Bar"? Employing solely burned-out baristas. Though, that's a little sad for Marten xD

enchantedsleeper

I think she's wondering if Liz is going to turn green and grow massive.

enchantedsleeper

I love this insight.

fx_in_mind

It's the first one where she doesn't look angry or bored.

Carl G Knoblock

Spite is such a great fuel, ecofriendly and 200% renewable!

Ye Olde Phart

Oh good. It wasn’t just me.

Thisguy

Okay, little gremlin woman, you just said something I thoroughly admire. POINTS.

YsabetJustYsabet

Vulnerable, she looks!

Doc Gumby

Or maybe she finished with it. I mean, there are some projects that can only be taken so far, and then it's this thing that you've made. I mean, on the one hand one has projects like Wolfram Mathematica, which has been used by its creator in many additional wonders. And on the other hand, you have things like Conway's Life, which doesn't feel like it has the same potential. Sure, there have been a lot of people who have made a lot of interesting patterns with it, but it's not exactly a spring board for anything else.

Some Ed

Love the surprised look on Iris' face in panel 3. It's the first time she's been put on the back foot in a long time.

Ack

Wow, looks I like got into the job market just in time. When they hired me, they were just looking for 24 year olds with college diplomas and 50 years of experience. I was fortunate enough to find one that was grudgingly willing to accept a 25 year old with the ability to snow their interviewers. To be clear, I gave confident, incorrect answers that they did not know were wrong. That said, they were also answers to questions that were leading into sections rather than important in their own right, and while I could have probably handled those sections just fine, being able to skip them gave me more time to figure out answers for the parts that were really hard. Although, one answer I used to skip a section was actually accurate. They started with, "Are you familiar with vi or emacs?" I responded with, "I actually submitted code to the nvi project that got accepted, but not until after I found out about vim, which already had that feature."

Some Ed

Mt. Appleboom has erupted.

Sean Kinlin

Aback, she is taken.

Sean Kinlin

And now we know how Dutch Elm disease came to be.

Miyaa

Geniuses ARE a dime a dozen in cubetown...

Bagge

Thank you all for the confirmation, I brought it up in case the creator had missed a checkbox or the like. Your replies have created a notification which makes the post easier to find :)

Constantine Hannaher

I don't know if it's Patreon or Dropbox, but there's one creator I follow whose pieces display as Dropbox-downloadable files, and recently they've been displaying for about a second then being replaced by the incredibly informative error message "Error Something went wrong."

Mark

*hugs* (virtual hugs on offer if wanted, the external recognition of self can sometimes be shocking)

Simran Khalsa

Liz reminds me of me ~20 years ago. I was an IT student back in the day, but as one of my teachers said, "Employers are looking for 18 year olds with 50 years experience." Ended up having to settle for warehouse work, and been with my current job these past 16 years. I miss the studies, but I probably would have cooked my brain in a business environment.

David Paul

GOBLIN LIZ SMASH EXPECTATIONS DUMPED ON HER BY PARENTS, ACADEMIA, SOCIETY AND SELF!

David Paul

I'd buy it!

David Paul

Same here. No notification for this page, but got one for another webcomic I follow (Children of Eldair).

David Paul

Liz, as head of R&D, develops the virus. Hannelore releases it.

David Paul

Marten can call the coffee shop "The Genius Bar" and employ solely genius baristas :)

Stephen Wells

GOBLIN LIZ SMASH

Onyx

I was recently reading an article about strong language in Dutch. Apparently, they rely heavily on disease metaphors.

Chris Vermeers

Yes!!!

alphanor

I'm still rooting for Liz as barrista in Marten's coffee shop

Bagge

That's right, you horrible little goblin. Dig yourself out of your hole out of spite. You will show them. You will show them all (how to live a good life)

Bagge

"When reality doesn't match your expectations, the problem isn't with reality." I need this on a shirt, a hat, a bumper sticker, a poster, etc. ASAP!

Dracon Atrox

Liz is basically me with robot arms and short

Fart Captor

Yes, Liz should be terrified.

Joseph Bonnar

Patreon being patreon, I think.

Joseph Bonnar

It's kinda scary how much I relate to Liz.

Yelling Bird

In five years, Liz Releases The Virus.

Captain Button

In Panel 1 she was thinking things like "Computer: Arch" and "Computer: End Program."

Captain Button

Probably Patreon being glitchy. Like that for me too. It's happened before.

Captain Button

Same here, shows up in the home tab but not the notifications tab

Kai

Look, Iris, your choices are your own. Just saying, you have options.

Viktor

Is this weird or Patreon being Patreon? No email and no in-app notification for this post.

Constantine Hannaher

Eventually Liz will realize that genius isn't a thing you do, it's a thing you have. It rises to surface when something catches your interest. The reason she's stuck in a rut is because she's narrowed her definition of genius to the things she's done with it previously, which she has clearly gotten bored with. She needs to find something she enjoys doing, then she will be a genius at that.

BookBeard

Liz gained the power of Spite!

Jay MacKinnon

Wondering at what point does Liz swears in Dutch or, like much of German, they use English or French swears?

Miyaa

No monster, just a newly resolved human.

alphanor

Panel three Iris is my favorite Iris so far.

Doc Gumby

And so Iris has unleashed the monster.

Joseph Bonnar

Good for you Liz. Just go for it!! I love her determined expression in the last panel!

alphanor

"Tolerable? I'll show you!"

ValdVin

She's got a head start figuring out how to be a Gremlin.
