Awesome! Just watched this and had to laugh throughout because we could be twins for our reactions. I reacted the SAME way as you in almost every moment! I also feel Episode 4 and 7 are the best thus far. So, I think Moiraine sending a message to the Red Ajah to gather up Mat is just a tidy way of getting Mat back into the White Tower for healing, hopefully. The Reds couldn't really do more to him anyway because he can't Channel. It also opens up the opportunity for them to blame any changes to his appearance on the Dagger's effects on him. I think the Perrin/Egwene thing will just fade away. I think you're right in that it was just a needless plot interjection to increase the stress of the moment. Moments later Rand and Egwene certainly shrugged it off easily enough!
