Alphabetically by author. Within the author, series first, then stand-alone titles. Series are in order of publication date of first book of the series, within the series, by publication date. Stand-alone titles, alphabetical by title. Titles in a 'shared universe' are considered to be written by the creator of the universe (e.g. 'After the King' is considered to be written by J.R.R. Tolkien). Anthologies after the end of the alphabet, sorted by title.

Oh please oh please oh please let them meet! A new organized Singularity could emerge from the sheer love of filing! Besides, the way this comic runs, it's practically inevitable, anyway. Also nothing bad happened when Claire and Tilly met...

"Take them out of the box. Put them on the shelf. Biggest on the bottom." The box is small enough that finding a particular book on the shelf should only take a moment. Renee can organize them later as she likes. :)

I dunno. My gf of 5 years is a librarian and the way her brain works is amazing. She'll obsessively re-shelf in book stores, thrift shops, and other libraries but our home is has books of all shapes and categories scattered randomly in every room of the house.
