Due to that, everything is a struggle so I did something random, i.e.: folks didn't pay for a prompt/commission... Because the drawings aren't coming out 100% to my liking, I didn't want the things paid for explicitly being done until my tools are working again.

No idea model versions. I asked my parents for help to buy a new one since I need it for work and I can't afford to buy one myself. I got the one that has the paper gimmick too, but I won't be using it frequently.
