Sparking Soul: Ch.30

“Loki, unless you have a better way of finding Sif, we are walking on the streets,” I countered with a frown, shaking my head as Loki crossed his arms with a huff while Hela just looked entertained at our arguments.
In Loki's hands was a long cane with the head in the shape of a hammer that had a slight spike at its side while carried the same cane with the design of a blunt axe head at the end of its curve.
“Not going to help here?”
“Oh, let the diva pout as much as he wants. I am simply here to enjoy the show.”
“Hah, well, at least Hulk isn't as chaotic as you t-Hulk, you just ate!”, I groaned as I turned and began walking back to where the behemoth stood in front of a hotdog stand. The vendor as well as everyone around him however didn't seem that joyful and I gave a calming smile at them.
“Relax everyone. He won't attack unless you give him a reason to. Hulk, do you want a hotdog?”, I asked, not surprised when Hulk nodded.
“Twenty.”
“Got it. Morning, sir. How many hotdogs do you have left?”
“U-Uh, I-I just started s-so about fifty.”
“We'll take twenty. I'd say…$20 dollars a pop? I'd like to make sure you make a profit,” I whispered softly, smiling as the man's eyes widened before he nodded.
“Good. We can wait,” I said, watching as the man quickly made twenty hot dogs in the span of a couple of minutes before handing them to the Hulk while excitedly taking the cash I gave him.
“Why would you overprice it yourself?”, Loki asked even as he took a hotdog from Hulk, Hela taking one for herself while I smiled in thanks as I took the one Hulk handed to me.
“I'd rather see the man make a profit from us. On another note, have you managed to track her down?”, I asked and smirked as he just grumbled while Hela rolled her eyes.
“My spells are not omniscient. It takes more than just handing me Sif for me to find her. It would take a miracle-”
“Mr. Odinson.”
“Or one of your Earthling friends,” Loki murmured with a sigh while I smiled as Coulson walked up to us, but he was not the only one as two more were with him.
“Sif! How have you been?”, I greeted with a wide smile as I walked forward, Sif giving a slight bow as I gave her a side-hug while looking at the third member.
With long reddish-brown hair, she was a pretty woman as her brown eyes shimmered in the light and a slender yet curvaceous form that was hidden behind the same form-fitting black bodysuit that one would see Black Widow in.
“Son of Coul!”
“It's just Coulson, Mr. Odinson,” He spoke with a knowing look in his eyes and I smiled while shaking his hand with a nod.
“Of course, of course. I see you were not an enemy of S.H.I.E.L.D. then considering you're not dead.”
“I am not, but I have to admit that while we did take care of them, it was not without losses.”
“Understandable. So, I'm guessing the man wishes to see us?”
“In some way, yes. We're here actually because Lady Sif said that she's tracking down an Asgardian sorceress and a dark elf if I'm recalling correctly?”
“That depends. Did you tell them their names?”, I asked and nodded as Sif nodded in agreement.
“Yes, but I have not said for what crimes I am seeking them for.”
“Is it bad crimes?”, The unknown woman asked and Sif grimaced as I nodded.
“They murdered my wife Darcy Lewis and my mother Frigga. We're here to make sure they don't live another day as free people.”
“…Oh, my condolences.”
“Thank you, but I'll feel better once we capture them.”
“Uh, I know Hulk and Loki, but who is the other woman?”, Sif spoke, calling my attention back to our latest addition and said addition decided to speak before I could.
“Hela, goddess of death, eldest child of Odin and heir to the throne.”
“…Really?”
“No, Father doesn't seem to think that would be the right idea,” I answered, Sif narrowing her eyes as Hela had an amused smile on her face while Loki chuckled.
“Okay, so they're the same?”
“No, he is like I am.”
“Oh, please. I am the better of us two.”
“…The same, then?”, Sif asked again, smiling as I nodded with a sigh before I noticed Coulson and the other woman looking at Hulk. The behemoth in question didn't seem to care as he was eating his hotdogs while staring the agent down with narrowed eyes.
“Don't worry about Hulk, Coulson. He will not do anything as long as you don't provoke him…or Loki angers him, which he tends to do a lot.”
“It's not my fault he's that gullible for my tricks,” Loki spoke with a shrug before grunting as I swung my cane into his side, holding his own cane in a tight grip while gasping for air.
“I…hate you…”
“You do. Anyway, apologies for not introducing myself earlier. Thor Odinson, god of Storms. Pleased to meet you,” I introduced myself with a smile at the woman, who blinked at me before slowly shaking my hand with a smile.
“Skye, or Agent Quake if you wanna be formal. Are…are you actually a god?”
“One could say that, yes.”
“What else would you call us?”, Hela asked with her arms crossed and I shrugged as Sky let go of my hand.
“Extremely powerful cosmic beings.”
“…So, gods?”
“…Like I said, one could say that,” I answered once again and she rolled her eyes while Sky just hummed as I looked back at Coulson with a smile.
“So, I assume you have found the culprits, then?”
“We did, but that's when we also detected your appearance on our radars, which I assume your targets may have felt as well.”
“In other words, you can't detect them anymore. That is quite lovely, isn't it?”, Loki said with a sarcastic smile and I just waved my hand dismissively while looking at the sky.
“Heimdal?”
“Rosie's Desert Oasis, Nevada. Both Sif and Alflyse are there, but you are to hurry. It appears you arriving on Earth has made them consider finding new residence.”
“Thank you. They're at a location called Rosie's Desert Oasis, Nevada,” I spoke out loud, making Sif raise an eyebrow as Coulson narrowed his eyes.
“And how do you know that?”
“A friend of mine. He can see all that exists throughout the universe.”
“Wouldn't that be overstimulating or something?”
“Not if he has the mind to handle it,” I said with a smlie, to which Sky hummed before I looked at Hela with a smile.
“What do you want now?”
“Well~ Lorelei has the ability to enthral any man she wishes to whether they are stronger than her or not. Therefore…”
“You wish to send me with Sif to face off against her. I suppose I did say that I was going to help you here, but! If we do this, we are to do it my way.”
“No killing her,” I spoke with a frown and Hela rolled her eyes as she sighed.
“Fine, intense maiming it is.”
“Oh, my All-Father,” I groaned as she turned and walked, palming my face with my right hand as Hulk patted my shoulder while Loki snickered at my misery.
“I see nothing has changed other than Hela being the latest pain in your behind,” Coulson said with a stoic look, though I narrowed my eyes as I heard the amused tone in his voice before shaking my head.
“Let's just go before Hela decides to kill them both.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“So, this is how you travel? It's…okay” I murmured as I stood in the loading area of what the agents around us called The Bus, Hulk standing beside me and nodding in agreement with a frown.
“Hey, excuse me. This is state-of-the-art tech right here. You don't get any better than this,” Leo Fitz, the resident engineer, said with a frown and Jemma Simmons, who I believe to be his lover, had an amused smile on her face as I shrugged.
“Like I said, it's okay.”
“I believe 'okay' was not exactly the word he was looking for,” Jemma spoke with a smirk and I noted the British accent she had before nodding.
“I believe it was not, but when you grow up with technology far beyond this, everything else just seems…okay.”
“Where did you grow up?”
“Asgard, a celestial plane about a few thousand lightyears from here if I had to guess,” I answered with a smile, smirking at Leo's flat stare before he walked away with a huff.
“And now you've bruised his ego.”
“Oh, he'll get used to it.”
“Now, this is how one travels,” Loki spoke loudly with a smile as he walked down the steps that led up to the rest of the plan, a glass of red wine in hand and a sly smirk on his face.
“You would say that, you lazy bastard.”
“Oh, come now. At least we did not have to use the Bifrost again. Heimdall would have been angered at us if we did so.”
“Heimdall doesn't get angry. Frustrated at our stupidity? Yes, but not angry,” I spoke with a smile and Loki rolled his eyes before I smirked as Hela pushed him down while she and Coulson descended down the stairs.
“So, how close are we?”
“We're approximately twenty miles from our destination point. After which, we will take vehicles to Rosie's Desert Oasis where our targets lie,” Melinda May, an attractive Asian beauty who is also a SHIELD agent and Coulson's second-in-command, spoke with a smirk as she appeared from the lab on the side.
“Good. I've already contacted the local authorities to block off the roads, but if possible, I would like Hulk and Loki to do the same near the building.”
“Easily done and no, you can't say no, Loki,” I spoke with a smirk, to which Loki grumbled as he downed his drink in one gulp before picking up his cane and transforming it back into Mjolnir.
“…Why does he have your hammer?”, Coulson asked and I smirked as I unveiled Jarnbjorn from its axe form, to which the agent looked at it before nodding slowly.
“Understandable. Gear up.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The air was silent as I walked up to the door, silencing the sparks around Jarnbjorn when I felt the presence of an Asgardian and a Dark Elf inside the building in front of me.
“Hey! Who the hel-”, A burst of wind shot outwards from my form and sent the twenty guys at the entrance flying in all directions, four of them flying through the door itself and rolling across the entranceway.
Inside, I caught sight of a wide-eyed Dark Elf and Lorelei looking surprised to see me and I was not surprised when the former quickly unsheathed her sword while the other ran for the other exit.
Let Hela handle her.
“T-Thor.”
“Alflyse.”
“What are you doing on Midgard?”
“Hunting down the killers of my mother and my wife.”
“W-Wife?”
“Darcy Lewis,” I answered, watching as her skin turned a paler shade of grey before she turned as a scream came from the backdoor along with Hela's ecstatic laughter.
“That's Hela, my older sister, and she will be very happy if you try to run so…I'm going to ask this just because I want you to say no. Will you come quietly or not?”
“What if I make an offer?”
“I rip out your tongue,” Hela spoke as she entered the room and I did feel a bit sorry for Lorelei as a sword was stabbed into one cheek and through the other while her arms and legs also had jagged shards in them. She noticed my look at the wounds and rolled her eyes as I looked at her.
“Oh, please. I barely touched her.”
“Still, a bit too much. Now, Alfly-”
“I surrender,” I raised an eyebrow as Alflyse quickly threw down her sword and held her hands up, looking back at Sif who shrugged before she threw two pairs of handcuffs and an Asgardian Collar at me.
“Hela,” I spoke as I tossed a pair of handcuffs and the collar to Hela, leaving her to detain Lorelei while Alflyse held her hands up to let me put on the handcuffs.
“You look a bit disappointed there, Thor.”
“I am. I was hoping for them to keep fighting back,” I murmured, ignoring Alflyse's nervous look as I pulled her along while smirking as Hela pulled Lorelei out the building by her hair.
“…Wait, that's it? That's…that's the fight?”, Leo asked as he and the rest of the team walked out of their cover, Sif just nodding as I shrugged.
“My sister and I are amongst the strongest beings of our planet, with Sif, Loki and Hulk also being some of our most powerful fighters. Sending all of us was a bit overkill, I admit, but at least we didn't underestimate our enemies.”
“No, you overestimated them. I barely had to try to kill her,” Hela spoke with a huff as Sif decided to rescue Lorelei from her grasp and I smirked as I watched Hulk carrying a screaming Loki over his shoulder.
“I just brought you here because I didn't want to risk Lorelei taking possession of my mind,” I answered right as Hulk landed in the street, sending out a shockwave that I stopped and dismissed with ease as Loki fell to the floor.
“No…no more. I will fly…with the hammer, thank you very much,” Loki gasped and I rolled my eyes while looking at Hulk who frowned.
“You wanted to fight, didn't you?”
“It would have been easy for Hulk.”
“It would have been, but Hulk would have also destroyed half of the street so we had to give you the easier and less destructive job. Now then, we shall meet again at another time, son of Coul.”
“You're never going to stop doing that, are you?”, Coulson asked with a sigh and I smirked before nodding to the rest of the team.
“Bye, Thor~”, Skye waved and I smiled before bowing my head right as the Bifrost slammed down upon us and pulled us back to Asgard.
“You realize that the mortal human likes you, yes?”, Hela said as our group flew past the stars and I nodded as I looked forward.
“I do, but it's still too early. Perhaps at a later date.”
“Perhaps, but I believe that's not the only reason, is it?”, Hela said with a knowing smirk and I chuckled while extending my telepathy right as we walked out into Himinbjorg.
“Father?”
“What is it, Thor?”
“I'm ready to finish the rest of my training.”
A/N: And we're continuing onwards with the training~!! Also, a hint at who the new and final pairing is going to be~i.e. not a mortal.
