My Dad Is The Strongest?: Ch.9
Added 2025-02-21 20:46:30 +0000 UTCFootsteps echoed in the empty and decaying halls of the school as Killua's eyes flickered from side to side, focusing on every little movement he could catch while thinking of his current situation.
'There is a special grade hidden within these rooms. Their abilities and appearance are unknown or Mei Mei doesn't wish to tell me. Perhaps she does want to end me and then score with both the Zen'in Clan and the Gojo Clan.'
“Hah, I guess getting the opportunity to get double the money would be a good idea.” Killua muttered as he stopped at the end of the hallway, looking down both pathways before deciding to head deeper into the building.
'I'm guessing that's the Curtain, then.' Killua thought with a hum as he looked out one of the broken windows, watching as a dark liquid-like matter floated down and covered the entire school building in the shape of a half-sphere.
However, as that happened, Killua took a deep breath as he felt an oppressive pressure rippling through the hallways, slowly looking away from the window and down the hall with a frown as the scent of blood filled the air.
'That must be the spirit. A special-grade spirit.' Killua knew he shouldn't feel this way, but the thrill of fighting a spirit far stronger than Naoya felt enticing and exciting to the young boy.
Unlike Naoya where he was far too enraged to enjoy the fight, his mind was clear yet racing at the same time, feeling as if he was about to face off against his brother or Hisoka.
The longer he walked down the hall, the more the stench of death began to overpowering the scent of the dust lying all around the building, feeling his assassin senses flaring as he came to a standstill.
Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, sparks of electricity appeared around Killua's body as he opened his eyes with a determined gaze, staring directly at the being standing in front of him.
Dark green skin littered with pulsating pimples were all across its body as it was wearing a tattered kimono to hide its feminine-like build, the smiling looked at him with a glare from its three eyes as its long right arm dragged on the floor behind him.
The left arm ended in a stump at the elbow as the rest of it floated besides him, Killua frowning as he focused and felt the connection between the floating arm and the stump.
'Is its ability like Shoot's? If so, that might be troublesome considering his is a bit hard to deal with.' Killua thought as he slowly shifted into a Tiger Style stance, the cursed spirit tilting its head before it rumbled.
“Your cursed energy…it's like his!” The spirit growled and while Killua was surprised to hear it speak coherently, he was more intrigued by the words it said.
“Like whose?”
“Michizane!!” The demon shrieked as it charged forward, the world around Killua coming to a crawl as he felt the familiar tingling of electricity rushing through his body.
The beast threw the first punch by sending its floating arm forward, Killua swerving to the side whilst rushing forward to dodge it as he countered with a strike to the spirit's chest.
He did not deliver a simple claw press though as electricity flew from his hand and into the spirit's body, but his eyes widened when he felt a painful strike in the same spot that he was hitting.
With a powerful shockwave, the two of them were sent flying away from each other and quickly recovered, Killua flipping over with a frown just as the loose arm curved back and hit him in the back with a powerful punch.
The force behind it was not enough to make it hurt, but it was enough to knock the wind out of him while also sending him flying forward, the boy quickly recovering as the spirit rushed forward with its arm dragging behind him.
Watching as the spirit swung a wide slash at him, Killua curled into a ball and flipped over the attack, uncurling while keeping his legs close before stomping down on the spirit's face with a grunt.
However, he gritted his teeth as he felt pain in his back once more, the pain pushing him up and through the ceiling right as the spirit was sent rolling across the ground.
Grunting as he was indented into the ceiling of the second floor, Killua forced himself free and flipped into a room right as the ground was ripped open, taking slow and deep breaths to calm himself as he heard the spirit growling outside.
'Every time I hit him, the same force is delivered back to me. I hit him in the chest and I get the same blow to my chest. However, I hit him in the face and he got me in the back. If his technique was simply reflecting the attack, then I would have gotten hit in the face with that last one. Does that mean that his technique is not just reflecting attacks?'
“Keep calm, Killua. Analyse and overcome.” The boy whispered to himself before he dove forward the moment the spirit sliced open the door, quickly ducking right as Killua sailed over its head with a spin kick.
Landing behind the spirit, Killua kicked backwards and stopped it from swinging its arm, the force of the kick enough to shatter the windows around them while also cracking the floor as both glared at each other.
Within the blink of an eye, Killua spun around and flipped through the air with a corkscrew right as the spirit rapidly whipped its right arm, the other arm flying in from the floor as the boy unleashed a burst of electricity to keep it at bay while diving over a swing at his leg.
The spirit quickly swung its right arm in front of it right as Killua delivered a drop kick to it, but the boy grinned as he didn't feel any pain whatsoever, the spirit glaring as it quickly pushed him away while sending its floating arm after him.
As Killua blocked the punch aimed at his chest, he wheezed as he felt a painful blow hitting his side, making him drop his guard right as the arm flew forward once more and delivered a crushing blow to his shoulder.
However, the boy grinned as he manually popped out his shoulder whilst spinning with the boy, electricity sparking around his hand as he reached forward and pinned the arm to the floor.
“Thunderbolt!” Killua growled and watched in glee as the power of his electricity increased ten fold, grinning at the painful scream coming from the spirit when its arm was reduced to ash within mere moments.
'So, as long as I destroy the area that was affected, the pain is not delivered back, eh? That or like it showed earlier…it can store up the damage and deliver it back in one fell swoop. Kind of an annoyance to think about.' Killua thought with a frown as he went back into a Snake Style stance.
The spirit took deep breaths as it looked towards him, a hissing cough escaping its lips before Killua raised an eyebrow as the hissing grew louder and louder until he realized that the spirit was actually laughing.
That was not all as he could see another arm regrowing from its stump and while he wanted to rush forward to stop it, he could see the expectant gaze in the spirit's eyes that showed that it wanted him to do so.
“Hehehehe~ So, you don't have Michizane's technique.” The spirit growled as it crouched slowly onto all four limbs, Killua now wary of the attitude shift as it was far calmer than it was before.
“So, all that earlier was an act?” He asked and the spirit snorted as its left arm detached and floated besides it, an eerie feeling coming from its eyes before Killua's eyes widened as the left arm appeared in front of him before he could even blink.
Speed of Lightning worked as fast as it could and forced Killua to dodge the attack, the boy's left arm instinctively swinging back to stab at the arm while his right arm slashed forward the moment the spirit appeared in front of him.
The spirit, though, looked gleeful as it took the attack with a grunt, Killua growling as he felt the same impact on his face before surprising the spirit as he leapt with the attack and delivered a vicious kick to its neck that sent it flying out of the school.
However, Killua frowned as he felt himself tensing his abdomen right before he felt something exploding against it, but this pain was none like the other.
It was that of a burning sensation that felt as if it was ripping his insides out and Killua threw up spittle and blood as he fell to a knee, looking up with his vision being slightly blurry before he shook his head and caught sight of the spirit standing on its floating arm outside.
'What…what was that?' Killua had never felt any pain like that in his current life and the only thing he had to compare it to in his old one was when his family forced him to drink a mild acid that also contained neurotoxins and drugs meant to amplify his pain centre by five.
That was not a fun time at all and the pain of having it in his system for a week while his family made sure he did not pass was enough to remind him that they were not good people at all.
'Was…was that from my lightning? Does that mean…that destroying the arm just leads to the pain being as bad as that was? If so, this…this is far worse than I expected' Killua thought with a frown he stared at the spirit, who looked amused at his pain as it hissed with laughter.
He was not given more time to think though as he watched the arm carry the spirit down to the first floor, forcing himself to move as he quickly slidd through the hole in the wall and caught the edge.
Dropping down to the outside of the first floor and diving through the windows, his eyes widened as he quickly slid under a swing at his neck, watching as the spirit's arm sliced cleanly through the walls around them and shattered the ceiling above their head.
However, neither cared for the rubble falling down at a snail's crawl as both charged forward, Killua blocking and pushing the punch from the left arm to the side while leaping over the swing at his legs with a grunt.
Flipping over and landing on a piece of rubble falling down, Killua leapt from it right as the spirit swung upwards and sliced right through it, the force of its attack carrying on and blasting everything in its path high up into the sky.
It was only thanks to the Curtain that the attack didn't go far, but Killua didn't care as he rapidly leapt from floor to wall to ceiling and back to floor again, his reflexes on full blast he ricochet around the room while watching as the spirit slowly lost track of him.
The moment it stopped to look at a spot he had already left, Killua leapt at it from behind before delivering a powerful strike to its back, cursed energy amplifying his blow and making the spirit gargle as the attack's force was enough to sent it blasting through the walls and out into the hallways.
Killua was not done though as he rushed out after it, leaving the room to finally crumble in on itself right as he caught the spirit flipping over whilst taking a deep breath.
“My technique…is Doomed Echo.” The spirit growled and Killua's eyes widened as he watched the spirit's left arm flying through the wall and towards him, but he was shocked as he watched a copy of himself growing out of the arm.
Quickly ducking under the attack, his eyes widened as he didn't see his copy behind the arm no more, feeling the pain coming only moments later as his chest burned and he felt himself being knocked back into a wall with a cough.
“By suffering from an attack, I can absorb and reflect that attack back at the aggressor at whatever point I wish and with twice the power. The attack cannot be stopped and if the aggressor destroys my left arm, the pain from that attack is then stored in my body until the next attack is delivered.”
'Revealing One's Hand, eh? He's getting serious, then. Unfortunately for him, though…' Killua thought with a smirk as the electricity racing across his body began to increase, the spirit frowning as it watched Killua standing up while dense sparks of blue electricity scorched the ground.
“My technique is Speed Of Lightning. My cursed energy is charged with electricity and by channelling that electricity throughout my body, I can drastically enhance not only just my physical body, but also my nervous system, resulting in my body instinctively dodging any harm that comes near me. However, for me to dodge the attacks of another person, I must first read the electromagnetic field around their body, forcing my nervous system to record and analyse their attack pattern.”
“So, you say you know of my next attack?” The spirit asked and Killua chuckled as he looked up at it, electricity jumping from the corner of his eyes and making the air crackle as he cracked his neck.
“I do. Allow me to show you.” Before Killua could finish his sentence, he was already in motion, his body nothing but an afterimage to the naked eye as the spirit's heightened senses was barely able to catch him.
The boy appeared at the spirit's side with the cry of lightning, his fist coming around with a crushing palm strike that made the halls thunder as potent electricity was delivered to its side.
The force of the blow was enough to shatter the flooring and walls around them as the spirit wheezed, feeling a chunk of its body being torn away before it restored it as its eyes glowed.
Moments later, Killua smirked as he walked forward, watching as a copy charged at him before he appeared in front of the spirit with a hand in the form of a tiger claw pulled back, the cursed being's eyes widening when its copy hit nothing but thin air.
“If you can't keep track of me, then you can't hit.” Killua's voice sounded like that of static as he swiped his hand at the spirit in a deadly arc, the cursed being quickly swinging its arm in the back while leaping forward to try and stop the blow.
However, Killua's hand sliced right through the arm just as he rushed forward once more, ducking under the left arm trying to hit him from behind whilst delivering a crackling punch to its chest.
His feet was barely touching the floor as Killua stepped around the spirit in rapid succession, his arms a blur as he delivered claw swipe after claw swipe whilst tearing away chunks of the spirit with ease.
It was as he went for the finishing blow that he felt a heavy pressure appearing in the air, quickly leaping back right as the spirit roared and unleashed dozens of copies in all directions.
However, this time, they were copies of itself and Killua frowned as he saw the electricity covering each of them right as they rushed towards him.
The boy was quick to shift from offence to defence as he went into a Snake Style stance, feeling the air around him warping as his mind processed the numerous shifts in the electric field made by his own cursed energy.
With a hum that sounded like static electricity, his arm shot forward and stabbed through the chest of a copy, the boy already moving to the side and letting another copy sail past as his leg came around in a perfect arc and sliced the head of a copy clean off.
Yet, not a single drop of blood could be found on his body as the electricity burned it off before it could stick, his mind focused on nothing but running the perfect calculative counter as his body began to move faster and faster.
With each kill, he could feel his body shifting and adapting to the spirit's pattern, his body surging with enough cursed energy to obliterate a mountain as he leapt over the last one before delivering a crushing kick to its skull.
However, that was what the spirit was waiting for as it rushed forward, Killua landing on his tip toes just moments before the world around him began to slow down.
Watching as the spirit's long right arm slowly came down with an unrelenting and vengeful fury, Killua's eyes were an ominous blue as he shot past it, leaping off the wall behind it before spinning around as he struck.
Potent electricity burned a mark into the spirit's back as Killua landed his kick, thunder rumbling in the hallways as he watched the spirit be sent flying through the school and out onto the playground.
Before he could even land correctly, Killua was already racing towards the spirit, covering meters with each step until he appeared above the spirit with his fist covered in vast amount of electricity.
“Domain Expansion…” However, his eyes widened as he heard those ominous words, swinging his fist down even as the spirit's right hand had the thumb, middle and ring fingers curled in together with the index and pinky fingers pointed at him while its left hand had the index and pinky fingers curled in with the thumb, middle and ring fingers pointing outwards.
“Phantom Reverberations of the Cursed Shadows.”
A/N: Ooh~ Killua's in for it now~!!
It's a good thing that he learned all those anti-domain stuff, eh? However, will it be enough for him to survive or is this the end of our favourite silver-haired boy?
We'll have to find out next week.
Also, I know I haven't said who the spirit is, but I searched online and I found one that I think would work. It is a spirit from the Heian era, but it has been exorcised and reborn numerous times so that is not why it's not currently beating the shit out of Killua.
That and it's a coward at heart, which is also why it's not as strong as Sukuna, Kashimo, Uro, Yorozu or the other spirits.
Another thing before I end this off. I know that Whirlwind and Speed of Lightning are two separate things, but since one can't have two techniques in this world(unless you're an Itadori family member or Kenjaku's freaky ass) I made them into one.
Don't worry too much, though. Hehe~ Got something good planned for the technique itself
I'm also not necessarily nerfing Killua. It's more of the fact that this body has not undergone the harsh combat training his old one has so he's circumventing that by fighting at a weak level to learn their basic pattern and then using Speed of Lightning to rapidly adapt to their combat pattern.
Unlike Maho though(who I don't think keeps the adaptations from everyone he's faced. Correct me if I'm wrong), Killua permanent copies and memorizes the attack patterns while also potentially using them in his own fighting style.
After all, while he may not have multiple techniques, there's nothing against taking some of the principles of someone else's technique to help evolve one's own.
Anyway, as always, read, enjoy, review and until the next one…
Ba-Bye~!!

Ah, right. I always use to call Whirlwind Godspeed so that's on me

2025-02-23 12:21:23 +0000 UTCYou’re right, mahoraga doest keep adaptations from everyone he’s fought. He loses them after being unsummoned. Sukuna kept the wheel active and sometimes stored with megumis soul during his fight with gojo. That’s why he was able to adapt without being fully summoned. Edit: Also, I think you mean whirlwind. Pretty sure godspeed is the overall technique and whirlwind and speed of lightning are the two branches he created from it.
