Harbinger of Ruin: Ch.12

“Is it just me or is this too easy?” A young and pretty girl with shoulder-length brown hair and beautiful blue eyes asked as she and two other ladies walked through the forest surrounding the Old School building.

She along with one of the other girls that had light brown shoulder-length hair and dark brown eyes were dressed in a sleeveless French maid uniforms while the last member had on a bikini with a silk loincloth, a silver tiara and a transparent pink veil across both her arms that made her look like a belly dancer.

“Of course it is going to be easy, Bülent. After all, we are facing off against a newbie at Rating Games.” The other maid said with a roll of her eyes and Bülent sighed as she nodded.

“I know that, Marion. It's just that we have faced off against newcomers before and this…this is way too easy for the girl that's supposed to be Satan Lucifer's little sister.”

“Bülent, while I do understand where you're coming from, do you truly believe Rias Gremory is strong enough to defeat Lord Riser in his first Rating Game?” The belly dancer asked with an amused smile and Bülent giggled as she shook her head.

“You're right, Shuriya. I guess with this being an important event for Lord Riser, the stress is getting to me.”

“Well, don't worry. We'll defeat our Lord's foes like usual and after that, we can go and watch as he fu-!” Marion was about to finish her sentence, but her eyes widened as pain erupted in her side, looking down to see a magenta spear of light stabbed right through her.

“Oh, please keep talking. It would help me out so much.” Raynare spoke with a smug smirk as she pulled her spear out and leapt back, Bülent watching in shock as Marion fell to her knees right as Raynare lunged forward with a sword of light this time.

Bülent was quick to try and block the attack with a defensive magic circle while Shuriya swung out her veil to try and catch the girl, but she simply looked amused as she slid under the veil before slicing right through the magic barrier.

Raising the sword high, she slid past the both of them with a corkscrew and landed in a crouch, standing up and shattering her light sword right as both Bülent and Shuriya fell forward with deep burning gashes all over their body.

Bülent, Shuriya and Marion, Pawns of Lord Riser Phenex's Peerage, have been eliminated.

'I guess the ten days of training against Kiba have paid off.' Raynare thought with a hum as she clenched her fists, watching as the devils faded away before smirking as she heard the sound of Akeno's lightning in the air.

“Guess that means we're in phase 2 now. Time for Phase 3.”

Akeno smirked as she swung her arm through the air, numerous Gremory crests appearing around Yubelluna before each unleashed a powerful lightning bolt at the woman.

In return, Yubelluna swung her staff and unleashed a scorching burst of flames in all directions, clashing with the lightning and obscuring herself in a flash of heat and light.

The Queen of Rias looked on as she shifted the demonic crests away before quickly compacting them around her in a spherical barrier right as numerous explosions exploded all around her.

Quickly pushing the smoke back with a gust of wind from each crests, she frowned as she found Yubelluna missing, keeping the crests around her while unleashing a burst of electricity in every direction.

The moment she did, she smirked as she saw a Phenex crest appear and block the electricity from hitting Yubelluna, pointing her crests in that direction before unleashing a hailstorm at the Phenex Queen.

The woman in question, however, was more irritated than anything as she shot out a flurry of explosive bombs in response, each detonating and shattering most of the ice while pushing the ones that made it through out of the way.

“Huh, I suppose you really are more than just the 'Bomb Queen' like most suspect.” Akeno spoke with a hum as she created a wind funnel to suck up the bombs that made it through and fire them back at her opponent only to click her tongue as Yubelluna easily snuffed them out with a scoff.

“And I have to admit that your paltry lightning magic is slightly impressive. For a third-rate thunder witch playing dress-up, that is.” Yubelluna fired back and Akeno simply narrowed her eyes as the Gremory crests around her vanished.

“Aw~ that's cute. I didn't know blowing things up made you an expert in insults too. Should I start clapping now or will your next spell be just as creative?”

“Choose your next words carefully, Priestess of Thunder. It would be a shame if I were to scar you before Lord Riser could have his opportunity to teach you some manners.”

“Scar me, you say? How adorable. Then go ahead, darling. Show me how this scarring will occur.” Akeno taunted with a mocking smile and Yubelluna sneered at her words before unleashed a rain of bombs down onto the priestess

Two large Gremory crests the size of her body appeared above and in front of Akeno right as Yubelluna's attacks neared, but sparks rippled through the air and the Queen simply amused as she channelled her Holy Power and snapped her fingers.

A moment later, thunder boomed as Holy Lightning ripped itself free from her crests and tore right through the Bomb Queen's spells, who looked surprised at how effortlessly the attack cancelled her own before her eyes widened as she quickly cast a defensive barrier in front of her.

However, it was not enough and a pained scream came from her lips when the lightning pierced through her barrier and impacted her form, Akeno smiling gleefully as she dismissed the spell.

She was not done though as she pulled on the crest above her and swung it down, the lightning shooting from it slicing through the air like a whip as it cracked down upon Yubelluna and sent the Queen hurtling towards the ground with an ear-piercing shriek.

“Come on, Yubelluna. Were you not going to give me a scar?!” Akeno asked with a sadistic growl as she unleashed a storm of Holy Lightning down, the Phenex Queen barely able to leap out of the way even as she hissed when the Holy Power still burned her.

Quickly spinning and unleashing a burst of bombs at Akeno, the girl didn't even care for it as her lightning whip slashed through them all while shattering the vial that Yubelluna tried to drink from.

“Ufufufu~ It appears I owe Kiba an apology for not thinking that you would resort to using a Phenex Tear.” The sadistic devil said with a smirk as she floated down towards Yubelluna, who looked scared for the first time since their battle began as she rose a hand.

“P-Please, mercy.”

“Oh, don't you know who you're talking to, dear? I'm the sadomasochistic Queen of Rias Gremory. However, you did mention that you liked handing out scars, so allow me to give you a simple one that you'll never forget.”

“Well, this is…quite the unit for just me.” Raynare spoke with a slight frown as she stood just a few meters away from the outskirts of the main School Building where Riser was watching from the rooftop.

However, there were a few obstacles in the last of Riser's Peerage standing in between her and a promotion, the blonde at the front of the group looking both amused and disgusted as she rose an eyebrow.

“You did not expect your promotion to come easy, did you? My, my, you reincarnated devils do get slower by the day.” She said with a mocking look in her hands while dressed in a light purple dress with dark purple accents and a blue bow on the front.

“You know that by insulting all reincarnated devils, you're essentially insulting yourself, right?”

“Ha! Unlike you, I am of noble birth, the younger sister of the man you all are facing today.”

“…Yet, you are still a reincarnated devil. You didn't say lowborn devils. You said reincarnated devils.” Raynare continued and the girl rolled her eyes before responding.

“Fine, all of you lower-class devils are losing more and more braincells by the day.”

“Wow~ So, now you're insulting your fellow peerage members too? If I was you guys, I would let me beat her up and not fight at all.”

“Fine! All you lower-class devils of House Gremory are imbeciles!” The girl exclaimed and Raynare gasped as she held a hand in front of her mouth.

“So, now you're insulting not only the peerage of your brother's potential future wife but also the peerages of Lord and Lady Gremory as well as that of Lord Lucifer? I have to applaud the balls on you, girlie”

“W-What?! N-No, I-I-I…I would never…Stop turning my words around!”

“Never did. I'm simply understanding the context of what you are saying.”

“Hehehe~ You have to admit that she's got you there, Lady Ravel.” One of the catgirls in the skimpy sailor costumes with the blue hair and matching colour boxing gloves said with a giggle and Raynare smirked as Ravel glared at her before pointing at her with a huff.

“Ni, Li, Mihae, take her out. Karlamine, Siris, Isabela, make sure you three do it if she even manages to take out the others.”

“Seven on one, eh? That's not nice.” Kiba spoke with a smirk as he walked out from behind them, Ravel and the others quickly turning around only to be confused as they saw nothing there.

“Behind you, girls.” He spoke and Ravel spun around only to be shocked at the sight of Ni, Li and Mihae falling to the floor with deep cuts all over their bodies.

Ni and Li, Pawns of Lord Riser Phenex's Peerage and Mihae, Bishop of Lord Riser Phenex's Peerage, have been eliminated.

“What the hell was that?” Even Raynare was a bit confused at what just happened and Kiba simply smirked before raising a finger to his lips.

“Secret~”

“Fine, did you at least get it done?” She asked and smiled as he nodded before they turned to the front when Ravel spoke up.

“Kiba Yuuto, the sole Knight of House Gremory. I must say what I saw now is not like the rumours I've heard of you being a chivalrous knight.”

“Oh, that person only appears before people I respect. For the enemies of Rias, though, you can only count on me doing one thing: Win by any means possible.” With a growl, he crouched lowly and shot forward with his sword held out to the side.

Karlamine was quick to appear in front of Ravel and block the slash at her neck right as Siris leapt over the Phenex and swung down her greatsword with a grunt.

However, Kiba quickly moved his arms to where the pommel of his blade pointed upwards before shooting out a quick trio of blades at her, Siris abandoning her attack to block each of them before her eyes widened as they began to glow.

“Boom.” Kiba chanted as he pushed Karlamine away and leapt back, Siris quickly swinging her sword in a wide circle to slap them all away right as they exploded.

“Need help?”

“Keep the other two busy!” Kiba spoke before lunging forward once more, creating another sword as Siris landed before both she and a frowning Karlamine rushed at him.

Sparks flew as the three Knights raced around the edges of the area where Raynare was fighting against Isabela, Kiba sliding and flipping over each of Siris' swings while blocking and parrying Karlamine's strikes at the same time.

Slashing at Siris' neck while jumping over a horizontal swing, the woman was quick to duck under his attack right as Karlamine blocked it and pushed it to the side.

Kiba used the extra force to do a flip right as Siris tried to come back with an upwards slash, landing with a roll to get away from Karlamine stabbing at his feet before slashing downwards when both women attacked at the same time.

To their credit, they managed to move to the side and make his attack miss, but that was their downfall as he activated the enchantments on the blades and quickly froze over the area they were standing on.

Karlamine yelped in surprise as her feet were frozen to the ground for a brief moment before she shattered it, but it was enough to draw her attention away from Kiba as he stabbed his blades into the ground and launched a dropkick at both her and Siris.

The attack landed and sent both ladies flying back, but he clicked his tongue as he saw Siris blocking the attack with her zweihander while Karlamine's armour had dented to take away most of the force.

With both doing flips to get rid of most of their momentum, they came to a sliding stop as Kiba landed and shattered the ice below him, taking his swords out and shattering the left one while grasping the right sword with both hands.

A tense silence hung in the air as both Siris and Karlamine did the same, Kiba taking deep breaths as the Gremory crest appeared below him before his body was covered in a dim red glow.

Sandanzuki

A moment later, the ground shattered as he appeared in front of them in the blink of an eye, Karlamine barely registering his attacks as she brought her sword forward to block the attack while Siris was already swinging her sword at his chest.

However, he smirked as he abandoned his attack while sliding under Siris' and dragging his hand across the dirt, making both ladies gasp in pain as swords shot out from under their feet and stabbed deep into their legs up to the knee.

Sandanzuki

This time, he committed to the attack and lunged forward the moment he stopped moving, but frowned as both ladies quickly unfurled their wings and rushed upwards.

“You know, I'm trying to make this as painless as possible!” He shouted as he unleashed his own wings and rushed after them, shaking his head as he saw them both struggling to even grip their blades while blood flowed profusely from their legs.

“Ladies, you're either going to be retired from blood loss or because I made you retire myself. Please, let me end this quick and let you all get the help you need.”

“We…would rather die…than submit.” Karlamine growled out as she unsheathed the second dagger from her waist right as her first sword and Siris' zweihander were covered in blazing flames.

Kiba on the other hand looked disappointed at her words even as he nodded and held his blade parallel to his head with the tip pointed at them.

“Then I shall end this quickly for your sake. Come on.” With synchronized roars, both ladies charged forward with their swords at the ready, Kiba taking a deep breath as he closed his eyes for a brief moment before snapping them open right as he felt their blades close to him.

Sandanzuki

Leaning past Siris' slash while slashing upwards and freezing Karlamine's flaming sword solid, Kiba shattered her second sword with a downwards slash before blitzing past them while slicing out horizontally with a grunt.

Floating in the air behind them, Kiba shattered and dismissed his sword right as a deep cut opened up on both of their sides, their bodies fading away to the medical room before blood could even start flowing.

Karlamine and Siris, Knights of Lord Riser Phenex's Peerage, have been eliminated.

Yubelluna, Queen of Lord Riser Phenex's Peerage, have been eliminated.

Isabela, Rook of Lord Riser Phenex's Peerage, have been eliminated.

'Nice.' Kiba thought with a smirk as he looked down at where Raynare was fighting only to wince slightly as he saw the burn marks covering the right side of her chest and upper arm.

“Well, I guess we owe her a round of applause, don't we?” Akeno said with an amused smile as she stopped besides Kiba, who just looked amused before both of them dropped down to the ground right as Rias, Asia, Kalawarna, Mittelt and Koneko landed next to Raynare.

Asia was quick to rush over to the former Fallen Angel while calling upon Twilight Healing, Raynare giving her a thankful smile as the blonde quickly and easily got rid of the burn wounds.

“H-How? We…we made plans…” Ravel was in shock at just how easily the Phenex peerage was taken out and Akeno giggled as Kiba shrugged.

“You underestimated us because we've never taken part in a Rating Game. That is why it's just you and Riser left.”

“That does not mean we are defeated!” Riser's voice echoed from the building before the Gremory peerage rolled their eyes as the window in front of the Phenex king exploded with a burst of fire.

“I must congratulate you all for going toe to toe with my peerage. It's rare that a newcomer to the game is capable of doing so.” Riser began with a smug smirk as flames gathered at his back.

Ravel quickly flew away with a relieved look as she saw her brother descending with flaming wings on his back while Rias rolled her eyes as Riser looked directly at her.

“Unfortunately for you all, the power gap between my peerage and I are that of Heaven and Earth. I am a fair devil, though, and will give you all to the count of three to surre-!”

“Yuuto.”

“Already done.” Kiba answered as he pulsed his demonic energy and Riser frowned as he looked up to see sixteen beams of scarlet red light rising up to the sky.

“Mittelt, Raynare, Kalawarna, Asia, take on Ravel. Yuuto, Akeno, Koneko, with me.”

“Sure thing.” Raynare answered as the trio of former Fallen Angels and Asia flew up to where Ravel was standing on the rooftop.

Riser raised a hand up to stop them with a burst of fire only to roll his eyes as Kiba dashed past while slicing the arm to ribbons.

“Hah, have you not learned anything of what I can do in the years that you've known of me, peasant?” He asked and shook his head as Kiba snorted, not even caring for the pain of Akeno blasting a lightning bolt through his chest and Rias carving a chunk from his side with her Power of Destruction.

“And then your master thinks that she can take out a Phenex with just the Power of Destruction? Ha! I have to admit that I am amused at your attempts to take me out!” Riser spoke with a grin as he raised a hand to stop Koneko's punch, Kiba quickly rushing in as the white-haired girl leapt back.

Riser spun around with a flame sword before frowning slightly as Kiba created an ice-like sword and turned his flaming sword to ice, quickly increasing the heat of his blade and making the Knight frown as he leapt back right as Akeno called down a powerful bolt of lightning.

“Keep going!” Kiba shouted and Akeno was all too eager as she dismissed the lightning bolt before unleashing another one, Koneko chipping in with a boulder or a tree that were thrown every now and again while Rias unleashed blast after blast of Power of Destruction energy at him.

“Hahahaha!!! Oh, please!! Keep going! Tire yourself out and make my life easier!” Riser shouted with glee as he stood up from the ground, stumbling as Rias tore off another leg before regenerating it once more with a smirk.

“Now!” Rias exclaimed as she tore off his legs while Akeno ripped off his arms and Riser rose an eyebrow at that before his eyes widened at the unfamiliar burning pain in his chest.

Ripping out the Holy-Power-enhanced demonic blade from Riser's chest, Kiba stabbed it once more into a shoulder before creating three crests above him and shooting one more into the other shoulder and the other two into his hips.

The moment he did so, he quickly created a Flame Delete and stabbed it through the man's chest, pinning him to the ground while also freezing his body in place right as Rias walked up.

“This! This is cheating!” The man shouted through the pain and Rias giggled as Kiba stood up while five crests appeared in a pentagram shape around the downed Phenex.

“No, it isn't It's simply that no one has had Angels or Fallen Angels in their peerages before so there was no rule against them.”

“Even so, you had the opportunity to prepare accordingly, but you thought this would be an easy fight. Don't blame us for underestimating us.” Kiba answered with a shrug and Riser growled as he went to regenerate only to hiss as the Holy Power kept him pinned and prevented him from doing so.

“Now, then, Akeno?” Rias asked as Kiba pierced five Lightning Rod blades into the ground, each of them glowing brightly while the barrier around them shattered as Akeno raised her hands high.

“Be gone…with the thunder clap.” With those words said, a gigantic Gremory crest appeared above Riser right as a monstrous and roaring Holy Lightning griffin galloped out of it with a loud screech.

“Wait, wait! I will be a better per-!”

“No, you won't.” Akeno cut him off before swinging her arms down and the griffin screeched as it dove down right as Riser vanished in a flash of blue light.

Riser Phenex has surrendered. Rias Gremory wins.

Grayfia's voice was not even heard over the loud explosion that came from the griffin impacting the Thunder Palace, Kiba watching from a safe distance along with Rias and Koneko as Akeno stood in front of a pillar of bright blue holy energy.

“…Shouldn't she have held back?” He asked as he looked at Rias and she sighed as the light faded while Akeno walked towards them with a pleased smile.

“She should have, but considering who it was, I'm going to look the other way.”

“…Of course. So, how does it feel being a free woman at last?” Kiba asked and his eyes widened as Rias spun towards him before capturing his lips with a kiss and a loud moan.

“Mwah! It feels wonderful~!!” She squealed as she skipped happily back over to her Queen, Kiba frozen in place still as Koneko patted her back and dragged him along with her to the others.

“Koneko, pinch me ple-Ouwch!”

A/N: And the match ends with Team Gremory taking the win…as expected considering how many plans they made.
