Devilish Gaming: Ch.18

'I can't sleep.' Chad thought with a sigh as he laid on his back, his mind wide awake and his body fully rested after the rest he had at that Urahara guy's place.

“I don't think I am going to get any sleep. I guess this would be a good time to test out some things.” Chad muttered as he sat up, his Status screen appearing in front of him with a thought as he stared at his two new abilities.

'I can't test Cero here or else I will definitely destroy my apartment with the collateral damage. I guess that leaves only the new one, huh?' Chad thought with a hum as he clicked on the skill, reading Kūmon's entry before nodding as he pushed the screen to the side & raised a hand.

Gathering the reishi in the air as well as the Reiryoku in his hand, Chad frowned as he grabbed the air in front of him before surprised as it visibly warped around his hand like he was grabbing cloth.

Doing the same with his other hand & gripping the air tightly, Chad frowned as he slowly pulled his hands apart, his eyes widening as he watched it being torn apart to reveal a black abyss with thin white streaks of Reishi running through it.

“Holy shit.” Chad was usually not one to cuss, but it felt right as he stared at the abyss, reaching forward into the void before quickly pulling his hand back as it felt as if it was caressing him.

'Hmm, could I…?' Chad trailed off as he opened the tear even more, reeling back slightly at the waft of something bitter yet sweet impacting his nostrils the moment he opened it to the size of his body.

Taking a step in, he almost fell into the void if he didn't gather the Reishi of the void below his feet, stumbling slightly as the platform cracked a bit before he focused more attention it and sighed in relief as it stabilized.

Looking back at the dimensional hole to his apartment, Chad grunted as he snapped it shut before turning around and in the opposite direction of where he was looking before shaking his head as he began jogging in that direction.

Hopefully, he can find this Hueco Mundo place before he gets stuck in this Garganta dimension.

'…I can't believe it took me this long to realize it.' Chad thought with a sigh while pinching the bridge of his nose as he stood in the middle of a forest of giant trees that were made out of some silvery quartz-like material, the air behind him torn open to reveal the void of the Garganta right before he snapped shut.

Chad thought that he was going to find a portal that would take him to either Hueco Mundo or the Soul Society, but after half an hour of struggling to find those entrances, he tried to just tear the air open once more and…

It worked. Just like that.

“Hah, I really should start thinking a lot less about this stuff.” He muttered before shaking his head as he looked around, frowning a bit at the forest around him before his eyes widened as he heard a familiar low rumble.

Spinning around & looking behind him, his eyes widened and Chad could feel his heart sinking to his stomach at the sight of not one nor two nor three…but dozens of Gillians walking around slowly while rumbling like an army of titans.

'Oh…do they notice me?' Chad thought with a nervous bead of sweat rolling down his face as he slowly decided to get away from the monsters before cursing as he heard one rumbling while walking towards him, Brazo Derecha de Gigante appearing around his right arm as he raised his fist.

With a lunge, he was racing across the ground, his fists coated in an explosive aura as he watched the beast finally looking towards him right as Chad leapt through the air & onto his mask with a heavy stomp.

Pulling a fist back, Chad flashed his Reiryoku through his body before punching rapidly at the Hollow's face one after the other, explosion after explosion ripping pieces of its mask before Chad roared as he swung Brazo Derecha de Gigante and punched right through its skull, the beast giving one final roar right before a devastating explosion evaporated its head.

A groan escaped Chad's lips as he landed on the solid floor with a grunt, watching as hundreds of purified souls faded away while the Hollow Reiryoku that was left flew into his body & merged with his own, opening his Status screen only to be surprised by what he saw.

Chad was a bit surprised by how much his Cero skill had grown despite the fact that he has not used it once, but he then remembered how he got it and realized that perhaps every Gillian knew the skill & it probably got boosted when he absorbed the Gillian's Reriyoku.

However, what he was most excited & happy about was the fact that his Reiryoku has finally gone from High to Great, which was just one rank below Immense where Ichigo, Urahara and Tessai were.

He had thought that he would he stuck at that level for a while, but he supposed that since the first Gillian he defeated boosted his powers tremendously, defeating others would do so as well.

'Does that mean…?' Chad trailed off with a smirk as he looked over at the groups of Gillians lumbering about, some of which that had noticed him as they slowly walked towards him while charging up small scarlet orbs in front of their maws.

With a smirk, he clenched his fists as his body was coated in an orange hue, reaching out & taking a deep breath before letting out a sigh of bliss at how sweet the Reishi of the forest tasted.

'Okay. Defeating Hollows means more purified souls & more Reiryoku for me, which also means that I can protect more people and help Ichigo further.' Chad thought as he smacked his right fist into his left palm, the impact letting out a small explosion under his feet & sending him soaring through the air just as the first Hollow released their Cero.

In the Forest of Menos below the sandy plains of Hueco Mundo, a scarlet blur raced through the trees as it rushed from Gillian to Gillian, Chad smirking as he spun through the air with a flip & over a Cero from one Gillian before growling as he slammed his own Cero right into its mask.

Leaping off of the Gillian's mask right as its entire upper body was blown to ribbons, the teen spun with Brazo Derecha de Gigante charging up power & punched the ground below him, unleashing a shock wave that made the ground tremble & the last few Gillian stumble.

Quickly skating backwards, Chad charged up his Reiryoku before skating forward once more, sliding around the legs of a Gillian & tripping it into another before bouncing off of the back of a third and sending the three falling to each other.

Leaping into the air, Chad raised his hands above his head while charging a Cero to both of them, the area being dyed in a scarlet hue right before he swung down with a roar and unleashed a tornado of chaotic spiritual energy that obscured the beasts from view right as his Status screen showed up.

Pleased at what he saw, especially since he had absorbed what was the equivalent of probably thousands of souls' worth of Hollow Reiryoku, Chad was also a bit disappointed as he saw that his control had gone down yet again.

That was something he noticed as he went about purifying the Gillians from the Forest & absorbed their impure Hollow Reiryoku.

The more he absorbed, the worse his control got as his Reiryoku got boosted more & more and even when he had regained some of his control, absorbing another Gillian just worsened the control once again.

'Then again, I am absorbing the Hollow Reiryoku equivalent of hundreds of impure souls so I suppose my control would get botched up.' Chad thought with a frown as he landed on the ground, but he was at least happy with the fact that his skills were unaffected by that and that Cero got a slight boost with each Gillian that he absorbed.

However, it was as he stretched that he unconsciously leaned back, staring in shock at the growling Hollow that tried to take his head off.

With a grunt, an explosion erupted from his chest and sent both him & the Hollow flying in opposite directions, Chad quickly flipping through the air before Reishi gathered at his feet & he began skating up into the air.

Making sure to keep his balance steady as he continued to skate & slide, the Fullbringer frowned as the green-furred, gorilla-like Hollow stood on his two large arms, its far smaller legs dangling below it before his gaze flickered about as Spiritual Sense warned him about three others running about.

'One hiding high above & leaping from tree to tree. Another to my direct right and hiding themselves away while keeping the perfect distance away to attack & run if necessary. The final one is below and rushing from tree to tree, making sure to keep out of my sight while their friend distracts.' Chad thought with a frown as the gorilla Hollow pushed off of the ground & towards him, surprising the beast as he reached forward & locked hands with it.

However, the Hollow was not prepared for Chad's counter as he reared his head back before slamming a bone-shattering headbutt into its mask, the follow-up explosion making its head snap back right before Chad punched at its chest with a powerful Cero.

However, what he was not expecting was for the Hollow to tank the blast before it bounced off of a tree and back at him again, the teen wheezing as he felt its fist impacting his cross guard & sent him blasting through a couple of trees & into the ground.

'He's…they're definitely stronger than any Hollow I've faced.' Chad thought with a cough as he sat up, his eyes widening as he felt danger behind him before quickly rolling forward right as the sound of a whip smacking the ground echoed from behind him.

Quickly flipping backwards to face his foe, Chad watched as the rat-like Hollow quickly scurried away right as the Hollow leapt down towards him once more, the teen moving out of its fist's path this time and making the beast cough as a heavy gut punch with the added power Brazo Derecha de Gigante sent it rocketing backwards.

Pushing off of the ground & skating rapidly through the air with explosions from his feet boosting his momentum, Chad frowned as he felt all four Hollow signatures quickly racing after him before an idea came to mind as he headed directly for a tree.

Instead of blasting through it, however, he smirked as he placed one foot on it before rocketing up the tree, explosion after explosion sending quartz in the shape of small & sharp jagged blades falling down on the Hollows that tried to race after him before Chad leapt & spun towards the ground.

Pulling a fist back, he punched the air in front of him while also unleashing an explosion, but this explosion was purely smoke with a bit of heat that he used as cover & quickly leapt away, smirking as he watched them all rushing into the ground while hiding behind a tree.

However, as he was resting, his eyes widened as a spiked claw came swiping around the tree he was using as cover, quickly pushing off of the air & rolling back as the claws cut off the front part of the shirt Tessai gave him along some of the skin across his chest.

Subduing his need to hiss at feeling his skin being torn off, Chad growled as he pushed off of the tree with a devastating explosion, the greyish-green Hollow quickly placing its long arms in front of it right as Chad landed a heavy punch to them.

The Hollow was surprised though as the force of the punch reverberated through its body, a cough escaping its lips as Chad's punch forced its arms down before he roared as he charged a Cero to his free fist & smashed the blast into the beast's skull.

With another devastating explosion that sent a few trees crumbling to the ground, Chad quickly dove behind the cover of the rubble & hid on the floor, watching as the other three Hollows gathered at the site of the explosion before one of them cursed.

“Damnit! Teres, he got Becunes!” Chad heard the rat Hollow shout as he slowly crawled away from them, taking a few deep breaths before grunting as he tore off his shirt off in one move before wrapping it tightly around his wounds.

However, he knew that his rapid movements would have have drawn the attention of the other Hollows as he quickly began skating away while tying the remnants of the shirt around his upper body from his hip to his shoulder.

He didn't even need Spiritual Sense to know that the Hollows were following after him as he could feel the ground & trees around him rumbling, speeding up his skating before grunting as he leapt up into the air.

With a plan in mind, he could feel the familiar sensation of a Cero being charged up as he activated Kūmon while tearing open the space in front of him, skating across the void that was the Garganta before spinning around & sliding back through the hole he had opened just as the rat Hollow followed after him.

With a thought, he snapped the portal shut behind him as he dove towards the shocked gorilla Hollow, the beast itself stumbling slightly as it didn't expect Chad to return that quickly before it wheezed as the teen landed a monstrous hook with Brazo Derecha de Gigante.

With the force of the attack already lifting the beast from the ground, the follow-up explosion & Cero was all that was needed to rip the beast's head from its body, Chad ignoring its falling body as he looked up just in time to have the last Hollow diving back first into him.

A gargling gasp escaped Chad's lips as he felt a rib snap, the force from the back attack sending him rolling across the ground before he forced himself to flip over right as the Hollow continued attacking with an axe-kick.

“You're not Ashido! Who the hell are you?!” The purplish Hollow asked with a growl as it stalked in a wide circle around Chad, who didn't say anything as he felt at his chest & winced at the now broken rib visibly poking against the exposed flesh that was missing skin.

'He's stronger than them. I have to take him seriously.' Chad thought with a frown as he took a deep yet painful sigh, watching as the Hollow growled at his lack of answer before the beast charged forward.

Waiting until it was near, Chad went for a jab before catching a flash of something in the corner of his left eye, abandoning his attack & leaning his shoulder down & to the right just as a bulky tail with a jagged spike on the end of it barely missed cutting it open.

As it returned, though, the turtle Hollow's eyes widened as Chad caught the end of it and pulled it towards him while diving shoulder first into the beast's chest, spittle flying from its lips as the shoulder bash made it stumble back before the teen spun around & landed a vicious elbow attack to the side of the Hollow's attack.

He did feel pain as he hit the Hollow's hard mask, but a smirk appeared on his face as he had knocked one of the spike protrusions from its skull on the side that he attacked, quickly rushing in with a barrage of explosive-enhanced jabs that made it flinch with each one.

However, those explosive jabs were merely to distract it from the heavy hook to its side with Brazo Derecha de Gigante, the beast curling over Chad's fist as its eyes widened in pain right before Chad landed a cross with his left hand that also unleashed another explosion to send it rolling across the ground.

The teen was not done as he skated after the beast, which flipped around with a growl while charging a light red Cero to its mouth, Chad doing the same with his left hand as he leapt into the air before both beings unleashed their Cero at the other.

The clash of both blasts sent both flying in opposite directions as the trees caught in the blast was erased from existence, Chad grunting as his body was sent bouncing off from tree to tree before gritting his teeth as he forced himself around & slid across the air with a grunt.

Looking in the direction of where the blast had sent the other Hollow, he was surprised to see it running away, his leg muscles flexing hard before he sent himself rocketing through the air with a blast from his feet.

As he watched the Hollow look back, he was not surprised to see the beast looking back in horror as Chad pulled Brazo Derecha de Gigante back, a Cero charging around his armoured fist as he slid through the air before another monstrous explosion from his feet carried him to be in front of the beast's face within the blink of an eye.

“Cero Gigante!” Chad chanted as he punched the beast in its mask, the world around them fading away as the beast's mask shattered from the force of the punch right before a hurricane of scarlet energy blasted its body to ribbons.

Chad took a few deep breaths as he stood in the same position, the energy fading away to reveal the beast having been erased right before looking up as tree after tree came tumbling down & brought the roof with it.

With a frown and after he felt his body absorbing most of the Reiryoku the Hollows had left, Chad activated Kūmon and walked through it, closing the portal behind him as the first sand fell onto the ground before sighing as he tore open another hole in the air & walked into his apartment.

Too tired after fighting those four Hollows, he didn't care as he fell face first onto his couch with a groan and let himself be taking to the realm of unconsciousness only after he closed & locked every window & door with Fullbring.

However, if he had stayed awake a little longer, he would have seen the one notification that came through before he went to sleep.

Enough Hollow Reiroyku has been abosrbed. Well done on your battle against four Adjuchas-class fighters.

System shall now undergo an update. Please stand by.

A/N: And Chad finally finishes off his second real battle and against four Adjuchas-class fighters no less.

Before you all ask, if the four had attacked him all at once and at full force, they would have won, but since they thought one was enough to take him out and they were a bit hesitant to fight him after seeing him kill all of the Gillians, they had already lost to him.

However, I made sure to show that even though he has a lot of Reiryoku & Reiatsu, he can still be defeated by someone weaker than him if he doesn't take them seriously.

Also, this was a way for me to get Chad out of the way as Rukia gets taken by Renji & Byakuya or else it would have been a long battle in which the Fullbringers might have felt his spiritual energy and have intervened.

…Or not. That was just my thought of process as I wrote it.
