Monthly Devlog #3: June 2024

WOW! It's been a hot minute since we've posted, apologies for that! We're ready to start up on our monthly dev logs again, so get ready for a steady stream of content again! Thank you to everyone who stuck around.

I'll start off the post with the introduction of our two new members in Lavendeer: Lily and Sierra!

 You'll be seeing them a lot more as Lily is our new team producer & Sierra is our PR lead! They've been making progress for all our games much smoother, so everyone give a huge thank you to them! <3

However, with their arrival, we've had to say goodbye to one of our founding members: Scoob. She was a great help with the start of ToY:BTB, and we'll miss her a lot!

With all that out the way, I'll get into everything we've been up to this month!

There hasn't been much need for programming in Threads of You: Beyond the Bay lately, but I've been focused on programming (and illustrating) for our upcoming SuNoFes game: Effervescence!

We're still pretty early in development here, but we're in love with our plan for it and hope to have more to show by the next dev log!

As previously mentioned in an old post, we've started work on our new CGs for the demo rework!

As of now, we only have Jean fully completed (with needing a few tweaks, such as his scars). By next month, we should have at least one more to share!

Besides this, we've gotten 2 NPC sprites completed: Meredith & Mia!

We've also started progress on Katherine & Dante!

Besides character art, we have more backgrounds developed, as well as a better grasp over Brine Bay's look as a whole!

For an update on our physical merch, we're currently waiting on our buttons to be manufactured so we can go ahead and ship out the products to our backers!

The writer team of Threads of You: Beyond the Bay has been working hard on our demo overhaul!! Nothing we can share yet but keep an eye out since we'll be giving more info soon <3

We've made a few more TikToks this month, namely a new entry to our yearbook trend: Jean! (Lots of Jean love this month, huh?)

We also celebrated Vince's birthday this month, though due to some miscommunication with the team, we weren't able to give him the same treatment as Andrew. (Sorry to every Vince lover!)

We've also been having talks with more publishers & funders, with one hopefully willing to pick us up and help us host a new Kickstarter to fund our game!

Our Discord server held a pride contest this month, looking for all sorts of fan works of all our characters! Some other positive news, we've managed to secure 2 ads on ADWD thanks to our PR manager, Sierra! (WE LOVE YOU SIERRA)

 We're primarily focusing on making new documents for next month and possibly rethinking our general plan for Threads of You: Beyond the Bay going forward. We'll also start promoting Monstrous Brew sometime mid-late next month, so keep an eye out for that!

Art wise, sprites of Dante & Katherine should be completed, so we'll be posting NPC introduction posts soon enough! Kai's CG rework will be fully rendered by then, along with 2 new backgrounds remade for our demo rework!
