Hello! This is our first behind-the-scenes post for Patrons!

I'm Lumi, and I'm the primary programmer and artist for certain assets! This includes what this post is about, which is character customisation! We got a lot of feedback about features to implement for the main character and decided it'd be best to completely rehaul the entire system! This means new (and smoother!) coding, more customisation choices & WAY more inclusion!

✦ CHARACTER CUSTOMISATION ✦

As seen in the thumbnail of the post, this week has been focused on facial accessories! We'll be focusing on hairs next, as we'd like to include many more hairstyles & options to customise different bangs & back of hairs. Once that's done, we'll be looking into hats & even religious ones, so keep an eye out for that in our next post! The hardest part so far has been figuring out a proper layout for the UI itself, as we weren't sure how to keep the 'notebook' aesthetic up whist still including a lot of options. We opted for a handwriting/sketchy font instead of the default for the options to fit the style of the screen!

We've still got a long way to go, but its already got much more features than our previous MC creator, which is what we were aiming for! I'll probably be changing up some of the colours, especially for the eyes since the colour chooser on the side isn't the most visually appealing, but we may just save that for a future patch of the demo.

Now, without much else to say... onto the backgrounds!

✦ BACKGROUNDS ✦

Our background artist Miko had just completed the interior of the hostel the MC stays at in Brine Bay, we'll just need to render it and it'd be finished! The colours may change in the future, so don't get too familiar with it!

Speaking of colours changing, we've added a purple-hue onto our existing backgrounds, courtesy of Pluto!
