- Fixed: The coordinates weren't properly distributed to the IGCSConnector when the camera wasn't enabled
- Fixed: The EGS version of the game doesn't contain the code for blocking the gamepad input so the tools reported incompatibility and didn't work. I've marked this code as optional so on the EGS version gamepad input isn't blocked to the game, but the rest works at least.


v1.0.8:
- Fixed: Version 1.0.7 of the tools had a bug where enabling the pose override disabled the lookat behind the scenes, causing the sliders for lookat not to work anymore.

- Fixed: Fixed for patch released on May 2nd (photomode pose finetuning was broken)

- Added: Over-exposure control in normal gameplay, to control the brightness in e.g. bright sunlight, as white surface can become overly bright and lose all detail
- Added: Gameplay FoV factor control. The in-game fov factor is really a percentage of the core FoV (which is 70 degrees), so a value of 25 is 125% that value. The tools now offer a way to set this to a value up to 200% (or down to 1% if you fancy to be that close to Aloy's shoulder in her journey) or anything in between.

- Fixed: Fixed for game patch 1.3.55

v1.0.4:
- Changed: Changed the frameskip so animations don't stall after a few presses of the frameskip key, the previous one (the engine's own frameskip) stopped animations after a few frames, causing frozen characters

- Fixed: Time of Day wasn't reset to the original value when it was disabled in the client in all cases.

- Fixed: Specifying a gamespeed higher than 3 would result in the tools clamp it back to 1.0 due to an incorrect range specification
- Fixed: The shake factor wasn't properly tuned to the worldscale used in the engine, causing the camera shake to be very high even with low shake values.
- Added: Added fog, haze and godray settings

v1.0.1:
- Fixed: The near-plane value set by the tools is too low, mountains far away will show glitches because of it. The value is now set a little higher (but still lower than the game default)
- Added: Added a shadertoggler ini file to hide the Skip / Pause remarks popping up on screen (Del) and also local fog/leafs/flies/pollen (Caps lock)
- Fixed: The pose slider for the photomode was using the HZD range, but there are more poses in this game, so the range needed to be adjusted
- Fixed: Changing the Time of Day when the photomode was active didn't work past the prologue.
- Fixed: Pressing Ctrl or Shift in the photomode moved the camera up/down causing the lookat to change and ruining a pose set through the tools.

Hey Frans. absolutely loving these tools and instantly made my switch to PC worth it. its worked a dream with HFW up until last night where the DOF settings stopped working. Any ideas why? I'm new to PC so might be missing something very obvious...

Thanks ya. The controller was not working at first. But I ended installing DS4 even thou I have an xbox controller and a related things. And it just started working randomly. With that on or off. If figure it out better I will be back to let you know. It could be just a simples as disabling the steam input change did not really take until I restarted steam. Thanks so much.

Yes, that should work fine, I use an xbox controller as well.. Perhaps you have to deselect it in steam tho, so the control data goes through xinput

Hi Frans, when opening the in-game menu where you can go to inventory/outfits or quests, is it possible to hide the text in order to just see the (live) brackground ?

Hmm, I likely missed these when I scanned for the elements in shadertoggler. You could add these yourself, though. The shadertoggler is already installed for the hud toggle so you can just add a few shaders by stepping through them. Hi there, thank you for this great tool! I enjoy it a lot as always! Is there a way to disable hud elements that will stay even if I toogle the option to hide it (like in machine strike only subtitles disappear but everthing else stays there, or when I use the ingame photomode tool I have to use the ingame hide ui because your tools toggle will not hide that elements too)

The executable likely is different and therefore that feature isn't available (causing the camera feature to be disabled, hence it doesn't enable when you hit insert). I always specify if a given store version is known to work, and thus if I specify that the tools are compatible with the steam version and I don't mention EGS, then you can be sure it's not tested to be compatible with the EGS version. I don't have the EGS version so I can't fix it too...

The addresses found in the exe are either hooked to intercept an address which is then the base of a structure in which at given offsets values are changed, or code is altered or addresses are hardcoded and read from there. If the game crashes it can be anything you did wrong, but I'm sorry, I'm not going to give a deep explanation what to do.

Hi, I used your mod's log to try to tweak some of the values at the memory addresses in the logs (the write address for wind speed for example, as a proof of concept) but the game crashed (used Cheat Engine 7.5). Also the mod didn't seem to change the values at these addresses at all. Tried to scan for the values that the mod changes but again couldn't find the modification by the amount the mod specifies in the slider toggles. Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong here (I know the blog post about Wolfenstein II, saw it)? Much appreciated!

Is there a toggle for the "hero" lighting? Don't know who was the genius who thought of that one. If you can do something about the fog/haze inside buildings and settlements (like Barren Light) it would be fantastic! It's the only thing thing that stands in the way of this game looking the way it should! Thanks.

If you enable Time of Day then the time of day is indeed frozen. When you disable Time of day in the tools, it's unfrozen and time proceeds as normal.

Is the time of day 'frozen ' when running the mod? Read somewhere that when active it disrupts the normal flow of game time.

Yes, played with the god ray slider. I tried a shadertoggler (Toggle Fake Light - Volumetric Rays) from nexus, but it still helps mostly with the bigger clumps of fog, not the mangrove low-laying one and the general haziness that comes with distance (blacks become greys). I'd really appreciate it if you look into these settings :) It's a shame to hide such beautiful graphics behind this stuff - I understand it for PS4/5 but not for PC.

Sometimes you can hide these with shadertoggler like the mangrove fog that's close to the ground. I couldn't find all the fog values to control everything (there are many many fog values in memory and without any guidance what these are, I tried to make sense of them by changing the values). Additionally, try to lower the god ray sliders, that usually makes the fog effect less prominent

Hi, is there a way to completely (or almost) completely remove the haze/fog in the environment around Aloy? I set fog density to 0 in the environmental controls (play around with the other enviro controls too) but there's still low-laying clouds of the stuff all over the place. The controls seem to work for fog/haze in the distance, but stuff still looks washed-out in the environment closer to Aloy. Thanks.

For gameplay? You have the fov slider in the menu to the max value? I usually don't do this as overriding the fov for gameplay also overrides the fov for cutscenes, which then don't play correctly.

yes, this is a bug. I use the engine's flag to skip a few frames (as it's the safest) and it does that but the animations sadly cut out after 3-4 frames... :( I'll see if I can update it soon with the usual skip frame (unpause for a few ms then pause again)

I run the game in Windowed mode (so in a window) and then click 'fake fullscreen' to run it in a fullscreen window without a border. I can then alt-tab to the igcsclient so I don't have to minimize anything :) Could you try that please? I tried to reproduce what you run into but it works fine here. It only crashes when I push the LODs too far, e.g. when a big settlement is in the distance. This is something to expect from time to time, normally it won't crash.

Hello! I have a quick question, in the game, not the photomode, when I'm in a cutscene, I can pause and skip a few frames, however, it's not like in your other games where the image continues. I don't know if I'm making sense, but I need to unpause the game in order to have the cutscene continue. Thank you very much for this amazing tool BTW. I love your work so much!

Sorry - i mean minimize it, not close. Like, play the game, and then hit my windows key so i can see the icons and click the camera mod window so it comes to the front, then inject it. Is there an easier way? Should i just have it pinned to the front/top? And gotcha. Sorry for the hassle - I havent had an issue with your other game photo mods so not sure why it's happening here. Hopefully I can figure out why its happening.

Why do you close the igcs client window? :) Always keep that running. I'll see if I can reproduce it, but I haven't had a crash with the tools in my many hours with the game (only with the LOD values if they were set too extreme which might happen)

The camera connects and i get that message in the top corner that it found a camera. This is at the menu screen of HFW. then i hit continue to start my gameplay, and its only if I hit my windows key and open the camera mod window and then close it that I experience a crash. I have had it maybe once or twice where it doesnt crash the first time, but the next time I open the window, the game shuts down. And yes, latest version of the game, and I dont believe msi afterburner is running. i'll double check.

Hi! Iโ€™ve used your photo mode mod for BG3 and had no issues! However for this one for HFW it crashes the game for me each time I use it. I can inject the photo mod fine, but if I open the photo mod window later while playing the game, to mess with settings, it crashes. I donโ€™t have input coming in from steam for my Xbox controller. Thoughts? Thanks!

There's no way to save them, as they frequently change in-game and you need to tweak the existing set really instead of 'apply this here' as that likely won't look good anyway.

these have no relationship with each other, time of day is paused when you enable the override in the tools, whether fog/haze are 0 or not 0

Frans, hi! Thank you very much for your awesome work! Your camera works so well, it allows to fly to hidden places on the map (out of bounds he-he)! But flying far from player do not affect on loading LODs (LODs slider works as expected, but do not effect on map chunks). To achieve LODs loading we have move our player to that place, but that causes an infinite shaders compiling (for example XYZ: 3461 7305 890). If you have time and desire, please take a look how to prevent the game from loading non-existing shaders or force game to load chunks as well.

The 'neutral' faction in the engine was the way to do that in HZD, but the function to set it isn't there anymore in this version. I'll look into that soon. For now I only added an 'invulnerability' option, so you can use that for action shots.
