I'm having a ton of trouble getting this to run with Special K in Nier Automata. I've followed the tutorials and I'm running reshade as a plugin... however, whenever I inject the NierAutomataCameraTools.dll, my game camera freezes and the game eventually crasahes. I have been able to successfully inject the NierAutomataCameraTools.dll using Special K, but camera speed is insane and I can't figure out how to adjust it this way. Everything works fine if I am only using the LOD mod, but not FAR/Special K. In a perfect world, I imagine that this would just work with NAMH, which is what I'm using to manage mods and injectors. Once, it did work, but I could not freeze time. Special K doesn't seem to be able to do this anymore as their camera controls haven't been working since 2021. When Special K is disabled, the camera tools work perfectly and I can freeze time. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas why this might be freezing and crashing when I inject while running FAR/Special K? I prefer to use NAMH, but I've also tried a fresh install and the latest Special K and it was the same.

No sorry, they use windows specific APIs. While some are emulated using the proton layer on the deck it's not tested and not designed to work on the deck, sorry.

No, camera coordinates are relative to the cell the player is in, hence the repositioning. Next time please post below the post of the camera in question :)

Hello, I've noticed with the free cam mod for Elden Ring, if I move the character too far away, the camera will reposition and do some weird behavior. Do you know a solution for this? Thank you!

Thanks :) What you require would require changing the game camera system how it behaves on input. My system simply shoves that all aside and writes its own data to the camera data structure in memory so the game thinks 'that's the camera location'. So to do what you want the game input -> camera system flow has to be investigated and that's outside the scope of the system

First, I would like to congratulate on writing such an excellent application. I used it and for me it worked flawlessly for the things I tried. However, there is some additional camera functionality I am looking for that is kind of out of the scope of this application. Since you obviously know a great deal about how the camera works, is there an application that you are aware that will let me keep the camera centered on the player and allow me to control the vertical and horizontal position while still playing the game. I was able to do this in Resident Evil 2 by editing some of the Resident Evil 2 files, but I haven’t been able to find any documentation on how to do this in Nier Automata. I have looked at Cheat Engine and Special K, but neither one of these seem to be the solution to what I am trying to do. Any information you could provide would be a great help.

Hello. When I inject DLL, the game freezes and I can't do anything afterwards except ALT+F4. I am not sure what the issue is. I am using Special K with the texture mod.

that's because special k also offers a way to pause the game and that's conflicting (as in: my code can't find the pause location). so the only solution is to use the pause option in special k

Hi, i am using the latest version of SpecialK with an HD Texture Pack...nothing else and i can't pause the game =( Any idea to fix this problem?

My tools don't disable anything so I think what happens is that when you enable the camera, all keys are blocked so you can't open special k with its hotkey. To do so however is to press Numpad . which enables input to the game, and you can then open special k (and reshade).

When I inject this while using the latest version of SpecialK (with reshade working with SpecialK), it disables SpecialK and therefore reshade and high res textures. Any advice?

It works, make sure you use the right special K mod (or better: try without it, as it works ok)

It should work, but pause the game is bound to numpad 0 which requires you to enable numlock. Did you enable numlock on your keyboard?

Hi, idk if this comment will be answer but, i have to tried, so, i Just bought this and is amazing but some functions doesn't work, like add paths or pause the game, idk if maybe the problem is that i'm playing while i'm connected to net or if is something else, pls help

I've rebuilt the camera tools using a new compiler, and have uploaded that as the v100b zip file attached to this post. I don't have the game installed anymore so I haven't checked if it works but I think it will. Could you please test that v100b file attached to this post ?

No, false positive, the Machine learning systems in virusscanners sometimes trigger on the Microsoft VC++ runtime library I embed, sadly... If you can't download please let me know and I'll reupload a new build, which might not trigger virusscanners....

To my knowledge there wasn't any update released. you're sure you have Nier Automata the re-release version, not the old original one? I've tested it a month ago and it worked fine. So what does 'doesn't work' mean exactly?

Hello!. Bought into the Patreon specifically for this mod, but it no longer seems to work. I tried the Replicant one and followed the instructions just the same and that one worked easily, but Automata does not. Am I doing something wrong? Or does this mod require a disclaimer that it no longer functions after a certain Nier update?

Hi! How did you solve the problem with the menu? During the hotsamping opening, game goes to the menu. How do I keep the game window active? Windowed mode, disabling HUD does not help.

If you run the game as admin, also run the tools as admin (but you don't have to run the game as admin). Also try without any mods first

I'm playing the Standard edition on Steam. But Inject DLL doesn't work with the message "writing dll filename into memory allocated in host process", and there's no log messages. Any idea to avoid this problem?

For those wondering, it seems like quite a few recent versions of Special-K were interfering with this tool, no idea why, however the latest-latest version on their discord (22.6.30.1 nightly build June 30th 2022) worked for me finally after all the other recent ones didn't (I tried versions from March 2022 to July 2022). So if you have an instant crash with recent versions, try that version Also huge thanks to the author for making this!

Please get the latest Special K version, and also if it's regarding the timestop, it should work. If not, please contact Kaldaien in the special K discord to fix it, as it should work ok.

It works for me (Steam version), however it works only with vanilla installation, it seems that Special K (required to install mods) prevents the camera tools to works properly, I wonder if there is a way to avoid this, the game is so much better with hi-res textures

Is this during a prerendered cutscene? As most cutscenes are pre-rendered, so they're video and you can't pause these with the gamepause/gamespeed control.

Hey, I have a problem where Game pause / Gamespeed control isn't working. When I press the button it shows "Game paused / unpaused" but nothing happens and toggling Gamespeed just doesn't do anything. Everything else works perfectly fine. :)
